It's a pathetic shame that this administration didn't understand that before they invaded that place. They've pissed away the lives of 900 of our finest, wrecked our military and left us defenseless should a tin-pot dictator get it into his mind to cause a little trouble. All for what? Oh yeah, the creation of a terrorist paradise.Draginass said:It's just a pathetic shame that 900 of our young men and women have died in Iraq to free people who either don't want it, or don't deserve it.
Your profile says civilian. I'd rather take a military man's point of view on this subject. If you do not know this as fact, please don't post it. You are entitled to your opinion though by starting your sentence.."In my opinion..".vc10 said:wrecked our military and left us defenseless
Finally, somebody who gets it. The status quo in the Middle East is not sustainable over the long term. Iraq doesn't even have to become a democracy, just develop an economically viable middle class. Bush has injected this into the Middle East like a virus, because the religious fundamentalists are more afraid of progress, women's rights, and individual freedoms more than anyone's army. The alternative is that radical Islam overthrows the sultans, gains access to petro-dollars, and all the weapons that billions of oil dollars can buy coupled to the idealogy of jihad.balls deep340 said:
Long Term – 20 years from now there could be a working democracy in Iraq. One that all the surrounding countries are scared of. After a while the Saudi people will be asking why don’t we have a democracy? This could be the start of civil war after civil war in that area of the world. GOOD. Let them fight amongst each other. We will just sit back and watch them.

A possiblility and I hope you are right.
Rock I've seen our nation at its strongest and weakest. I'm obviously voting for Bush in '04.[/QUOTE said:Same. Rock for President!
Been there done that. Amazes me when rank and file civilians (no harm intended) fail to realize we sat on a low grade war for a decade (Iraq) with DEMOCRATS doing nothing because they knew it would not be popular. Conversely, we joined a popular war (Kosovo, Yugo, et al) to make friends in the international arena, and are still there losing folks, which you don't hear about do you? Democrats, can't live with em, can't kill em, whats a guy to do?
LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I would vote for Bush if I could take a naked hot tub soak with his daughters.![]()

Balls deep, I see you've set aside this special time to humiliate yourself in public. I would like to offer the following quote to help answer your "why":
"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which feels that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself." --John Stewart Mill
Yes, this applies to you.
I hear Air France is hiring...bon voyage.
