but you cant print from wifi.

but you cant print from wifi.

If the printer's networked, you sure can. I've done it at several FBOs.

Failing that, you can do all your planning on your laptop, then plug their printer into your USB port when it comes time to print. Easy!

but you cant print from wifi.

You can if the FBO has a printer connected to the LAN. Of course then we are back to expecting way too much from the FBO - which was the original point. I feel your pain man. I landed at a towered airport in OR last month where I asked the FBO guy if they had a computer connected to the internet or a wx computer. The guy looked at me like I was crazy and said "We have a telephone"

Signature.

If pressed to say something nice, well, their management makes Frank Lorenzo look like a nice guy.

Sheltair PBG

Failure is there goal.

....and every FBO in Mississippi. Slow is their culture.

You nailed it, Tick. Without question, Jimsair is the absolute WORST FBO in the US. I guess when you're a monopoly, you have the luxury of foregoing service altogether. You can have catering from wherever you want, so long as it's their catering. I cannot remember the last time they got our catering order totally correct or to the airplane on-time.

Just horrible.

Ok, for those of us who don't deal directly with FBOs , how about naming the guys with the trailers inside the hangars? Inquiring minds want to know.

Or maybe just me...

Wasn't it Signature in LAS with the trailers?

Millionaire in LUK. It was awful. When the beyotch found out we burned avgas she LITERALLY rolled her eyes at my boss. Then when he asked what decent hotels were in the area, she literally said "I don't know", and went back to her cell phone! Me and the other pilot had to walk outside to keep from strangling her. Funny thing was, the next day when her bosses were there she was the sweetest thing you'd ever meet...

MillionAir at KBKL.

They have a horrible track record for hangar rash, and the staff seems to only operate at the speed of smell. If your plane has props on it, don't even bother going there because they don't want you (and have actually TOLD customers as such).

Oh, and if you're a freight dawg? Forget it. Even if you upload 1000 gallons of jet-A, they won't allow you in the building. Period. Even during a January Cleveland blizzard.

Case in point, the Cleveland Air Show back in 99. At the start of the week, the majority of the airshow performers were basing at MillionAir. By the end of the week, every single performer (except the military ones) had migrated to the other FBO.

So many bad FBO's, so little time to mention all of them but here are several that top my list:

First Aviation TEB...Service? What's that?
Signature DET...What a dump.
Supermarine SMO...awful service but the bad attitude is free!
Signature MIA...where they leave you stranded on the other side of the ramp and drive by you in golf carts pretending like they didn't see you waving at them.
Jimsair SAN...the do-it-yourself FBO.
Wilson Air MEM and CLT...no way the FBO of the year 8 years running, what a scam.

Seen most of those already listed but in my experience at the frax for over 8 years the all around champion for crappy service from an FBO (a buisness that is supposed to SERVE its customers)

Jimsair in SAN.

You have to chase after one person for your catering, another for your coffee, another for an interior vac, another for the fuel. Yadda, yadda, yadda. That after requesting all of it at the counter or via the radio inbound for a turn. I don't say quick because that in NOT in their vocabulary.

If you need a shuttle to the hotel, they'll get to you after they are done shuttling people to and from their parking lot and the airline terminal. They get 10 - 20 bucks for someone who's parking their car and they jump for that but the crew flying the GIV who might be uplifting 1000 gallons or more the next day can wait til they're good and ready to take them to-from the hotel. I stopped asking an just requested a taxi.

I agree. In addition to being a crappy FBO, they don't allow any catering other than theirs or it has to at least go through them so they can mark it up 50%.

I fuel up around them whenever possible.

I wish there was a way to send this thread to all the FBOs nation wide.

Althogh it might not help as the ones with crap service and bad attitudes probably know it already and don't care.

If anyone deserves a snooze in the bldg it's a freight guy. That's just plain rotten.
