Enough of the culture stuff. The bottom line is companies, especially publicly traded ones do what is best for the bottom line and the shareholder. If that means instilling this "culture" to keep turnover and benefits low then so be it. JetBlue tried it and it lasted till the company's bottom line started hurting. SWA would be no different. If you "feel" having this perceived culture works for you then great. SWA is all grown up though and you guys need to come back to reality. Herb is gone. The underdog fight is no more. You just brought on a bunch of "inferior" Airtran pilots.

I work at Alaska. I am treated fairly and as a professional by my company with no false expectations. We are bonded together as employees of a company and all pull to make sure we keep our vested livlihoods moving forward. As pilots we have little choice given the alternative. It's a business where professionalism is expected in both directions. So what exactly is so different now at SWA that makes you feel so special? What is this culture makes you feel better than all the rest? I don't see it.
