Let me guess....yeah the timing is about right......

Someone saw the Fox news report last night on "Hooter's Air" with the bright orange jet and the ladies all lined up with the promise of "2 Hooter's girls" on every flight.

Well you've got your Christian schools, your Christian book stores, your Christian coffee houses, etc - you might as well have a Christian airline. That way you can isolate yourself completely from the real world.

Although you guys may have a new economic paradigm. If you put a preacher on every flight, then the aircraft can be a flying church. Then, you can apply for tax exempt status and blow away even the bankrupt airlines for low cost. Since you've got the traveller trapped for two hours at a time, I bet you can convert 10-20% to your new church and get them to contribute. Yeah, this could be a real money making machine. ;-)

Tarp,

Excellent slant on things. Sounds like something Benny Hinn or Jim Bakker would have thought of! Put a couple of teachers on board, call it a school, and when the faith based voucher crap goes through, you can get the government to pay you as well. Government gives you money, government doesn't tax you, I'm beginning to see the light.

We have a PF Chang's as well. The sauce they make table side is the best.

I've been wasting my time praying for a $200K job to land at my doorstep while our Lord has been taking care of the winds and traffic for Adam. If you all could stop praying for the weather for just a day, maybe my line will get in....I land the job...and then you can all go back to having the Lord as your copilot.

Loopy is a good word.

Amen to that brother!

PF Changs rocks.

On the startup 121 operation, if you have a NICHE and a MARKET BASE, why not? You could get cheap equipment.

I hear Legend Airline's banks have some cheap DC-9's....

On the other thing... is there a message borad ANYWHERE that this doesn't come up? I'll bet the ancient greeks sat around talking about Zeus.

Well if anything's possible with the lord ... could you ask him to make my ex-wife go away, make my pen!s 2 inches longer, and set all religious nut-cases on fire - regardless of what name they use for 'God'?

Thank you.

Yours in the spirit of the lord ...

Minh

(Apologies to Timebuilder, Turbo, and other sincere but normal Christian pilots on this board who would never title a thread like this guy did.)

You guys have come up with some great ideas. We could have Christian books in the boarding area. Christian boarding music, the Captain could lead the whole airplane in a prayer for our safety. As we do our trans-atlantic crossing the first 2 hours would be a Praise and Prayer time, all the words to the music would be on the video screen. Then we could have a Christian concert from some great Christian artist the the next two hours. Next we could here a message from Bob Coy, Charles Swindall, and a few others. Then it would be time to land. . .this may sound weird to you guys but that would be just a little piece of heaven. But the Lord called us to live in the world and not be a part of us. We are not diffrent from anyone else just sinners(big time) that have admitted that the only way they can have salvation is through the saving grace of the blood that was shed on Calvary. I'll stick with my unsaved friends the dirty jokes, the coarse comments the bars and the drinking because the saved are saved and the unsaved are not. Just when you think that you are doing everything wrong you get a chance to present the gospel and someone is saved and a life changed forever. You guys can run but you can't hide from the saving grace and conviction of the Holy Spirit. BTW I know all the JAARS guys(my Dad worked for them for 30 years) who was the person you guys were talking about. On a more serious note taking all these guys to Kuwait they are very serious as they contemplate their futures. I can tell you right now they aren't seperating Church and State. It was heart wrenching to be present seeing all the little kids say goodbye to their Dads for maybe forever. There is a lot of sacrifice going on for our freedom right now, tough to talk about when you see it. Off on another trip see you guys.

Mark 12: 13-17

"Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's."

I don't think the way one makes a living, as long as it is an honest living, really matters to the Lord. It is a thing of Caesar.

If you want to apply the straight an narrow path....I guess you had better fly the ILS to ATP standards or better!!!

Amen

PS: I don't think I will apply to your airline anytime soon, but if it pays at least six figures.....I will take it to the Lord.

I prayed that on my solo, there would be no winds, no heavy traffic, no unlucky difficult situations that came up that I didn't really know how to deal with. Well today on my first solo, 0 winds, practically no traffic except for a few planes

Why should God waste precious time on local meteorology, in a world where 4000 babies starve to death each day?
Am I missing something here?

I have flown with quite a few biblethumpers, and frankly they scared me. One even told me how to build a nuke.He loved that stuff.

Just dont confuse the emergency checklist with rhe bible!

Interesting thread to say the least. A few points to ponder....

1) If God is your co-pilot, switch seats.

2) Be tolerant off all religions, you never know who's backing the right horse.

3) In this current environment, any new gimmick to fill seats will be embraced by management, (Maybe this new start-up will serve PF Chang's for inflight?)

Pt. 121 application

Thanks for all the comments in regard to my inquiry a/b hooking up w/ the right people to get advice pertaining to the commencement of appl. for a 121 cert. Proceedings this week have gone well. I am certain the many obstacles, barriers, and objections will be overcome, and to an even greater extent prove to be an invaluable edification of our resolve.
I would never want to give the impression that this endeavor was for the purpose of jamming religion down anyones throat. I would strive to have anyone whom we come in contact with to at least ponder the fact that this organization is operating under precepts that are biblical. If they thought we were followers of Christ, then ever other facet of our establishment would be secondary. For at least our actions were speaking louder than our words. I've been in the airline business for 22 yrs with 7 carriers, God knows I'm not a preacher or I'd have started a church by now!
May He continue to Bless you.

Let me respectfully submit that I'd have to see that to believe it. Also, I see that everyone was much more mature than I and didn't respond to my previous smart-a$$ reply. For that I salute you. I was being an immature jerk.

And I'd also like to reiterate that I have a lot of respect for Turbo (and I don't give a rat's a$$ about his career choices) and for TimeBuilder. Both gentlemen have always been mature, respectful, and quite informative. My quarrel is with Christianity (and Islam and Judaism), and not with individuals. If my actions sometimes make it appear otherwise ... I sincerely apologize.

It's just that the title of this thread was bound to garner a response from myself and a couple others of like mind. And unfortunately, this kind of statement tends to bring out the worst in me.

Reverend Thich Minh Thong

Snakum,

I, for one, enjoyed your previous smart-a$$ reply.

You'll note that all it takes is a title like this one to bring out all the thumpers who think nothing of espousing their beliefs ad nauseam. There's no reason you should feel the need to apologize for poking fun at one of the many absurdities of life.

P.S. I'll assume your wishes have not yet come true, which I'll accept as further proof of the non-existence of You-Know-Who. :D

I know this is pretty futile and don't know why I bother, but here goes anyway . . .
I just wonder why all the enlightened pilot-god types (small g) here feel so justified in bashing Christians for no apparent cause, but would most likely (and rightly so) come to the vigorous defense of some black pilot being bashed for no good reason.
Maybe the original poster was yanking our chain and maybe not, but in any case in no way did he give me any indication that he was a "nut-case religious fanatic."
It seems all it takes to bring the cat calls is simply to mention Christianity at all. If you chose not to believe, then right on brother, it's your choice, but how about showing some respect for a fellow pilot and the decorum that would reflect on you as a professional.

Good post prodigal!

I never have figured out why every other so called group can blow their horn, but Chirstians... they should know their place. I am personally offended to read some of the statements/attacks that were posted. I spend 20 days a month sharing a cockpit with whomever I am scheduled to fly with. I can assure you that I have never scared anyone I flew with nor made them feel the least bit uncomfortable. Maybe I don't fit the stereotype, your stereotype.

I hope you will treat me respectufully and without prejudice if we ever meet or fly together, because that is exactly how I will treat you.

Okay now, we heard enough of Jesus and the Lord hanging out in a 747-400.

Now what about the little green men? I've heard they are everywhere, must be after PF chang chickens so watch it.

PF Changs

Yeah the food is great, but it is overpriced. However, their is a spin off chain restaurant (same owners) that serves almost the same exact food (lettuce wraps, honey shrimp, my favorites!) but for half the price. There are a couple of them in the Phoenix area, but unfortunately i left the country 6 months ago and cant for the life of me remember the name of the place. If i can recall the name, i will post it. mmmmmm, chinese food.

Prodigal, none of the "enlightened pilot-god types" (these are your eloquent words, sir) you talk about use screen names that religion-bash, start threads for that express reason, or end their posts with an auto-signature quote that religion-bashes.

However, the reverse IS true. Many believers that who post to this board wear their religion on their sleeves, on their avatars, on their screen names, in their posts and in their auto-signatures.

It doesn't bother me to read these things because all of you are free to say and believe what you do. But WE, sir, are also free to disagree and free to say so. I find your comments above to be particulary hypocritical.

Don't try to squelch me just because you don't like what I have to say. And show a little courtesy since the non-believers are rarely instigators to the threads that wind up like this (just like this one).
