Talking outlandish and bloviated, I think you forgot the part that AT pilots voted by an over 80 plus percent margin to accept that pay.

They thought everyone was playing fair, and you would have done the same. Then, the rules changed (perceived threats, which always helps), and now those 80% won't forget how they are currently being treated. Have fun with that! That fun spirit of yours might just be a memory coming up here. Throw in stagnation, and cost cutting currently happening, and that thing that made you guys different will be gone. But hey, you always got LBB.

Bye Bye--- General Lee

PS: a real merger pays people the same on the same type aircraft, otherwise you are taking advantage of your fellow co-workers. And your group not standing up for that makes YOU guilty.

It is downright lies like this that make you king of the bloviating blowhards on this and any other aviation related forum.

In my 18 years not ONE Southwest Captain has ever left for another airline. Not one. And very few new First Officers have left. Interestingly enough though, I have flown with THREE former Delta Captains. And many former American, United, America West, USair and Delta First Officers.

So General Cheese, whats your point? Please don't bother explaining. It would be just a line of crap anyways.

Not one guy has left that you know in 18 years? Not one? None? Oh come on. I do know a fNWA guy that left NWA just at the merge with DL and went to SWA, and ended up in the "bottom 268?" at SWA and is now miserable, being bumped out of your MCO base. Btw, there were SWA captains leaving for UAL pre-9-11. Did you know everyone back then? With the obvious discontent shown now by both AT and junior SWA pilots, I see the migration continuing. That's my point. You need to clean up your collective act, because people are sensing that your place isn't "the place" to be anymore. Have a great Thanksgiving.

Not a single SWA Captain has left for UAL. Ever. That is a fact.

What is also a fact is that I have flown with THREE former Delta Captains.

Did they take the early out at DL? That would make sense. If they did, they are now junior at SWA, and junior to many AT guys. I bet they are thrilled. It sounds like the bottom half of your list will implode. Nobody is happy. AT pilots know they are still being taken advantage of, and junior SWA FOs being bumped out of bases as AT pilots downgrade.

And it's great you know who left for where over a decade ago. You must have been a social butterfly at SWA. Let me guess, you were Prom Queen back in High School....?

Hey, I heard a rumor. Rumor has it the SWA guy who did the 717 deal for DL got into major "trouble" after the honchos supposedly found out what type of deal he made. Not only did SWA have to pay $100 million or so for the re-configuring of the planes, new paint, wifi, etc. but also each plane will get a C-check or D-check paid for, and when the leases run out in 10 years, DL might have the option to buy the planes from Boeing at then "current" market rates (in 10 years). If true, that would be a screaming deal, and I hope the rumor of the guy getting into trouble isn't true. Happy Thanksgiving!

Just flew with a 15 year USAIR pilot, loves it here...also just flew with a 7 year former AAI 117 FO (close to upgrade at AAI) who loves it here...on the AAI side there appears to be some real emotion towards the MEC that did not allow SL9 to go out for a vote...the truth is often more complicated than we like to admit...I personally know of a SWA pilot who left for FEDEX pre 9-11...I hear rumors that SWA FOs are considering leaving for DL...who knows, the career is a crap shoot...if the worst thing that happens is that your company was bought by SWA or you left SWA for FEDEX or DL than I would say you have little to complain about...

Hey General,

I guess Mom hasn't finished cooking the turkey yet? Ha Ha, happy thanksgiving and keep on keeping it real (from your perspective)...

There is some truth to what you say, but if one group was favored by the boss, then that boss and group will be disliked by the affected group. If an arbitrator, a neutral, makes a decision and it is disliked by many, they point the blame and anger towards the neutral. That helps because the company heals faster, with hatred pointing outward, not inward. You guys went the other way. Working at SWA is probably better than being at AT, but now you've got inward anger that may exist for years to come. Let's hope everyone manages it better.
