AD for 73's due to China bonfire

Next Generation Boeing 737s to get inspections
Boeing 737 aircraft in operation will be inspected according to a recent Airworthiness Directive issued by the FAA. Following a fire that destroyed a China Airlines (CI) 737-800 on the ground in Japan, the FAA is requiring all operators of similar aircraft to inspect bolts on the “slat track downstop assembly” for tightness.
all applicable aircraft are to be inspected within the 24-day mandatory compliance period. It is believed that a loose bolt on the CI flight may have pierced the fuel tank, causing the fire.

Hi!

I just read a report in an aviation newsletter, that said a lose bolt from the back of the wing slat had pierced the right wing tank, and that fuel was leaking on to the ground during the taxi in. It also said Boeing had issued an AD a while ago, and it was not known if China Airlines had complied with the AD.

Note: I had my first trip to Europe (basically) last summer. We went to 11 cities/towns in Poland and Rome.

I visited the camp. I really "enjoyed" the visit to the camp. It made me want to kill everyone (very slowly) who helped build, run, or support the camp. It was SICK how some German companies had advertised the work they did to build the camp.

I was very impressed that some local Poles had set up volunteer committees to help the victims of the camp, and surprised that the Nazis had let them give aid to the prisoners.

I see, yeah I had very similar feelings. I went to Majdanek in Lublin and some other camps a few years later and learned about the very early years of the SS and Gestapo and how they got "training" from their brothers at NKVD (among other places at the infamous Ljubljanka prisons in Moscow) which later became the KGB on how to interrogate and torture their victims. That's when it really hit me how close the Nationalist Socialist German Workers Party aka the Nazi party stood to the Communist party despite their attempts to portray themselves as an anti-communist patriotic movement. Either way, I think everyone should visit those camps because we should never forget...

Boeing issued a service bulletin on this in December 2005. Boeing cannot issue an airworthiness directive (AD), only the FAA may issue one.
Service Bulletins are not mandatory, as issued by the OEM, AD's are.
Foreign registered aircraft are not required to comply with FAA AD's, however, their respective governments may issue the equivellent on affected airplanes.
