The worst thing about it was the rain repellent was piped inside the cockpit.

I always wanted to fly the BAE-146. After a contract I did for Parc in the late 90s, I was returning to my airline whom I had taken leave from. Parc wanted me to keep working for them. They asked if there was any contract that I'd be interested in to keep me... offered me 747/ A340 type stuff, etc. I told them, I want to fly the Avro RJ. Huh? Yep, if ya' can't find me a gig on that plane then I'll just go back to my airline. And back I went. They weren't able to get me a job on one without time on type.

How is the cockpit on the 146? Looks comfortable.

I first flew them in 05. They were very comfortable. The pay was atrocious thanks to the blended payrate we have.... But from a strict pilot perspective as long as the fadec and trp worked it was outstanding. leaps and bounds better than the CRJ's that replaced them.... other than in the fuel burn/speed category....
I tried to get PARC to use me to fly the Avro's back to Europe but got furloughed without enough time in type. Besides unfortunately they pretty much used only captain/captain crews for the flights.....

ASA operated them years ago. 4 or 5 I think, most had 88 seats, one had 100 seats. DAL scope allowed ASA to get up to 20 of them. Lasted at ASA a year or three I think.

PSA had them for a while..(the ORIGINAL PSA) that is in Cal..they disappeared when they got absorbed by USAir..just weren't fast enough i guess..and the Lycoming fans had some issues as well...it was nicknamed the "Smurf-jet" or the "Fisher-price" jet..
