Why is FedEx posting hiring announcements if they already have 10,000+ resumes on file, and you need 3 internal recs, etc, etc.

Serious question. Does not make sense to me. If I was a shareholder, and I knew the above facts, I would question why additional costs were being incurred to have to in-take additional resumes which requires manpower, manhours, etc etc

anyone have an answer for this?

What do you mean by internal??

I'll do what ever it takes to get me on property!

Probably because about 10% of those 10,000 resumes have 3 internal recs?

Just a guess....

that means 1000 guys have the recs, more than covering their "gonna hire 450 pilots" number

Probably an EEOC "Equal Employment Opportunity Company" cover.

Yea, it's EEOC for military pilots.

There are many of us 100% civs on property. I don't have any idea of the percentage, however the I can't get hired because I'm not military thing is not true.

Here's my answer: FedEX HR is a money maker for the company. Think about all the $50 application fees collected and the respective application which has never been reviewed due to lack of internal recs. 10,000 X $50.00=$500,00. I do not know how many HR folks FedEx has but 500K probably covers their collective salaries.

Why the hell not!!?? After spending a better part of the last 15 years living and flying out of the cesspool that is the middle east the mil guys deserve a piece of the pie. The fact that we network so well due to non-homosexual male bonding during combat serves us well during job searches.

Oh yeah, how about all of our experience being in multiengine jets and in either heavy of fighter aircraft as opposed to C-172s.

Civilian trained pilots deserve everything they can get. I am not disparaging them. But how can anyone object to airlines hiring military trained pilots?
