Will this be your first jet type rating? If so, there is going to be a nice little restriction on your license that won't go away until you fly the plane.
I would take the money and do some investing. Chances are you'll make more money that way. Regardless, good luck.
I totally disagree--a type rating is a great investment!
Let's look at it this way (All pay for training debates aside):
Let's say you spend $25k on a G-V type rating (yes, I have heard its that cheap now. If you spend $60k on a type rating, you're a moron!) And you contract for $800 a day, and you do 10 days a month--that's $96k a year! Tell me what investment will give that ROI? I know things are tough and 10 days a month is a little high, but still.
