TAILHOOKAH: You don't have a clue what CS is about, so just keep your pie hole closed. I've been around the block and CS is nothing like you say. It wasn't just a few months ago everyone wanted to leave NJ, because it was a sweat shop of an operation. If someone has the choice, then come to a class act like CS. We are the leading fractional in service and professionalism. I'm sorry, but the truth hearts. Get over it. quit giving the poor guy false information. Your program manager will look after you better then a union and it cost nothing. Unlike a union. We only hire people of the highest caliper. If you meet our mins, you will be the most satisfied with our operation. We treat you with the respect as professional pilot, as you deserve.

"Leading fractional in service and professionalism." Just curious there trash, but where do YOU stumble upon this priceless information??? Is it written somewhere??? Or is it something that perhaps you just made up???? I cant help it either, but you guys hire people with the highest "caliper?" Really??? Does one have to have work experience at a garage or maybe at "Auto Zone" for CS these days now?

What aircraft is the best if there is the choice!

LD,

Initially, I wouldn't worry too much about which equipment. It's not like the airlines. You won't sit on reserve in sEWRk if you pull a mid sized bird. That said, if given a choice, I'd hedge my bets (I always have). Take a look at the ProPilot Salary Survey in their June issues and see what the pay is like in all the planes in question. I always put in bids for the best paying plane out there. I was unfortunate enough to have to really think my company was within a heartbeat of going Tango Uniform at a moments notice. At least if I had a few really good type ratings, I might have that much better a chance of an easy job search.

If you are leaning NJA, you can pretty much bet that won't be an issue. You never know what life might throw at you though. I look at my type ratings as little insurance policies that I hope I'll never have to cash in on.

Just one humble point of view.

Given NJA and CS as the two best paid in the frax industry...if you really read the NJA contract...take it from someone who has spent nearly a decade in this corner of the biz...take an iron clad contract over pay.

PERIOD!

STRONG UNION!!! YES!!!!!

Another factor in my decision might possibly be that the hottest girl that I have ever met (let alone slept with) happens to live about six miles from CMH. But the contract is definitely the deciding factor. An ironclad contract is gold in this industry!

As Paul Harvey would say.........THE REST OF THE STORY!!!!!

I won't argue that man! But this is some grade A stuff. And she wants to ride on the back of my Softail all the way from Columbus to Sturgis this summer! :)

Her butt will be SORE if she rides from CMH to Sturgis on the back of a Harley!

No kidding but any chick that will even attempt that, is a keeper in my opinion! And at least I put a Fatboy seat on my Springer just for her.

I am in the same boat. I was hired at FLEX and already interviewed at NJA on 2 Feb. If they call I am choosing NJA. FLEX seemed like a great company and the people were great. Flex doesnt pay as much as NJA and I have to agree that FLEX is merely a place for Bombardier to sell airplanes. NJA seems to be a more of secure place as a career than FLEX. Just my 2 cents worth.

The answer is easy and obvious

Unless you are very uninformed or misinformed, the decision is a no-brainer. If you can get to work and live with the NetJets domiciles, go to NetJets. If you can't get to work at the NetJets domiciles but you live close enough to one of the 25 CS domiciles, go there. While the 7/7 base salary is slightly higher at CS, the overall compensation at NJA is far and away the best.

This is good solid, sound advice. Commuting will seriously diminish the quality of life associated with any job. I did it for two years and it is horrible. Don't try to think ten years down the road which choice will be better. This works well on Wall Street , not in this industry. Go with what will give you immediate satisfaction TODAY and make your life easier and more enjoyable.

Net jets....

much better rules... seniority based system (read no bubba club) and rules to have the company pay you for your time and effort...not just a salary like you'll get at CS. You don't get reimbursed for tips you give to the fbo's and many other incentives that require the company to pay you when you get screwed around w/..... meaning long days or not getting home on time... you also have a union looking out for you... your PM at CS will always cave into what jon (cheif pilot) wants to do... like I said you have no say at CS...the reason why you don't hear much on this board is most guys are scared to say anything for fear of reprisals.... cs is a great place to be for a few years but netjets will be a career move for you...cs is not. you will get so fed up w/ their b/s that you will wish you went to netjets w/in a few months... cs wants limo drivers...not pilots.

tail

Glad you're gone...now just keep your mouth shut you trader.

Well stated. As a follow-up question, is the schedule at CS only 7/7? I know NJ has the 7/7 and an 18-day flying reserve also.
