What is the Omaha connection?

I believe that Omaha is the residence of one each, Warren Buffett. Perhaps you've heard of him? Someone once told me that he has fairly deep pockets, and some connection to Berkshire Hathaway.

I got hired with CS, Flex and netjets

which one to go, any advice is appreciate!

thanks

I live in long island!
I did not think you could live in Long island and work for FLEX.

If i am right that leaves you with CS or Netjets.

Next... where will you upgrade quickest? Do you ever want to fly something other than a Citation product?

Hey wolfpackpilot Please explain.

Once you get past the rhetoric you see on these boards and in the FBO’s, you’ll find most pilots at NetJets, CS, FLOPS, and FLEX enjoy their jobs and support their company. That’s human nature. But there are major long term differences at all these places which pilots have very little influence on.

The man I’m referring to in Omaha is Mr. Warren Buffet, the second wealthiest person in the world. He started Berkshire Hathaway, the parent company of NetJets, Geico Insurance, and Flight Safety International just to name a few. His investment philosophy is both simple and utterly genius; invest for the long term, and play to win. He doesn’t believe in market shares, he believes in market domination. When he became an aircraft shares owner in NetJets, he quickly realized what Mr. Richard Santulli had started had the potential to make it “BIG” so he bought NetJets and gave Mr. Santulli the controls.

TWO ISSUES:

  • FLEX, FLOPS and CS are fractional models based off the NetJets model with one major exception, their owned by the manufacture. Ask yourself this; does Boeing or Airbus own an airline? NetJets focuses all its energy on making the fractional business work in its favor. FLEX/CS doesn’t have that luxury. They still have to sell airplanes to the corporate world (in Cessna’s case a lot of them go to NetJets) and try to keep their fractional customers happy. They don’t focus 100% on their fractional business.
  • From the introductory Ultra/Beechjet to the Gulfstream 550 or BBJ; NetJets can offer what no one else can. Whatever you need. And now they're getting into more and more aircraft management for single owners. NetJets is free to go and buy any airplane they want, and do they. I’d hate to be an aircraft salesman and go knock on NetJets door. When they buy airplanes they look like me walking out of Sams Club with toilet paper (enough to last a lifetime). Point being, they buy in bulk and they get heavy, heavy discounts.
In the long run, the other fractional companies are just playing catch-up. They will never be able to take away NetJets share of the market (I heard Mr. Santulli in person say we control over 90% of the worlds large cabin long range fractional business). I see FLEX, FLOPS being sold in the near future. Don’t doubt for a minute that Mr. Santulli has a standing offer in on these companies. And once the respective BOD’s have had their fill with trying to compete with NetJets, they’ll sell. I believe competition is a good thing in a free market economy, unfortunately for others NetJets got the head start on everyone and without some type of major catastrophe (i.e. a labor work stoppage, corporate fraud) they will never be stopped.

Work where you want, but where else can you start in an Ultra and finish in a G-V and have the benefits so many have talked about.

TAILHOOKAH: You don't have a clue what CS is about, so just keep your pie hole closed. I've been around the block and CS is nothing like you say. It wasn't just a few months ago everyone wanted to leave NJ, because it was a sweat shop of an operation. If someone has the choice, then come to a class act like CS. We are the leading fractional in service and professionalism. I'm sorry, but the truth hearts. Get over it. quit giving the poor guy false information. Your program manager will look after you better then a union and it cost nothing. Unlike a union. We only hire people of the highest caliper. If you meet our mins, you will be the most satisfied with our operation. We treat you with the respect as professional pilot, as you deserve.

I'm going to say, "Any of them but Netjets."

...

Because I'm trying to get hired by Netjets. :D

fractrashed....

i used to work at cs... i quit to go someplace better. I give the real unbiased, non kool-aid drinking opinion that you obviously don't have... do me a favor and look up caliper in the dictionary. I think you meant caliber...but maybe not. You just might be one of the tools that I couldn't stand at cs.

Tail

Go to netjets... better rules, pay, aircraft, schedulers, schedules, reitrement, dispatchers, tip reimbursements, days off, career expectations and seniority based upgrades. If I'm wrong then prove it!
