Any news on how Flex is doing? Any news of possible layoffs. Don't seem to hear much about them. That must be a good sign and they are survivng the storm.

Sales are down, but that's on every market. Live hours are very much on track compared to last years. Company weekly updates shows that we have been extremely busy all thru the holidays. But 2009 sure looks like a very challenging year. Let's hope we don't loose any brothers along the way.

fly safe!

fly safe!

Hope things turn around soon so NJ/FX don't have to furlough and CS/Xojet/FLOPS bring those guys back....

How many net airplanes will Flex get in 09 (incremental to existing fleet)? I presume some 605s, 300s and 60XRs will arrive while some older LR60s, 604s and 45s will leave... Any deliveries planned in the near term?

Personally, I'd love to fly one of those CL300s....

I am hoping we don't go backwards. Net airplanes will be tough this year. But then again, I have no real info. I am just looking at the broader economy. I would love to see a net a/c or two in '09! I would love to see all the furloughs back on line and ZERO furloughs for us and Netjets. That's my Christmas wish list for us all in '09!

I has already been announced that flex is shrinking their fleet next year. so.... that means....?????

...that the fleet might shrink in 2009. Prediction is that we will see a net reduction in the single digits. No changes in staffing before spring at the earliest. Management seems intent on avoiding the situation they had in '02 when they let pilots go, then found themselves short when the recovery started.

we run a pretty tight ship and that has helped us quite a bit.

I've heard a net loss of a few airplanes next year...prolly gonna be a few older 60's headin out.

Best of luck to all those unemployed this time of year...may we see a turn around ASAP!

this is true…..the way Flex Jet staff airplanes is usually less than other companies, which now has helped ride this situation a little better.

I think flex would be a great place to work. I wish they would open up more bases. A lot more!!!

Never gonna happen. Just get it in your mind: "If I want to work at Flexjet, I am willing to move to Dallas, Denver, South Florida, or (god forbid) Newark."

This "loose" thing going around the forums is getting pretty stupid. There will always be grammar police out there. Deal with it or use spell checkers.

Spell checker can't help you to choose either loose or lose or choose know or no. Those skills were taught in elementary school.

I guess that some of the contributors to a few of the threads haven't left yet!!

It does surprise me that some of the posters (in charge of multi $$$ aircraft?) have such poor standards of spelling (notwithstanding your local variations of English - color versus the correct spelling, namely colour! ;) ). There is even an "ABC" button for posts, for goodness sake...... we're not talking basic typos either!

It is often easier to write a post initially in Word, check the grammar & spelling, then copy/paste into the "reply" box. You don't lose your reply if you have browser issues either.

Of course, ewe have too no you're core-wrecked spelling options!! :D

Spell Checker Poem

I have a spell in chequer
It came with my pea sea
It plainly marques for my revue
Miss steaks I kin not see
As soon as a mist ache is maid
It nose bee four two long
And eye can put the error rite
It’s rare lea ever wrong
Eye strike a quay and type a word
And weight four it two say
Weather I am wrong or write
It shows me strait a weigh
Eye have run this poem threw it
I am shore your pleased too no
It’s letter perfect awl the weigh
My chequer tolled me sew!!

My fault for getting off topic, just playing. Now, back to Flexjet, and I believe Rouge is correct. The new boss recently told one of our flight crews there would be no staffing changes till Spring, if any occur at all.

Mike, does your ability to spell make you a better pilot?

As it indicates a higher level of attention to detail, I would place more confidence in someone that spells correctly. Whatever job description applies. Especially if it's the first impression of a person.
