I hope ALPA national comes out and says no need apply at CAL,FedEX,DAL,UAL,etc... if you vote no

This kind of false crap is exactly why people don't like the idea of ALPA. This kind of mentality is short sighted or anal myopic.

This is pure GARBAGE. It is the false idea of this thug mentality that scares people away from representation; it does NOT drive them to it.

It is not what ALPA is about. ALPA is FOR PILOTS hence the P in ALPA.

I urge you if you are on the fence, that indifference is the weakest excuse for ignorance. PICK A SIDE, and stick by it.

I hope ALPA national comes out and says no need apply at CAL,FedEX,DAL,UAL,etc... if you vote no

I guess every corporate pilot out there is screwed to?
I don't agree with your "if your not ALPA your not S*&T"

The campaign started with a goal of getting 70% of the pilots to sign authorization cards.

The petition was filed with cards signed by less than 50% of the pilots.

What are the chances ALPA is going to be voted in?

So what is the point?

FACT: 50% + 1 is required to have a union certified by the NMB.

I think everyone, including the OC and ALPA, that it was going to be close either way.

I hope ALPA national comes out and says no need apply at CAL,FedEX,DAL,UAL,etc... if you vote no

And we thought Gojets pilots were scabs....At least they voted a union in !!!

That is just silly. And counter-productive.

anybody who would vote or not vote because of a "known" percentage of cards is weak minded.... think for yourself folks... what do you feel is best for our airline? its that easy! the end still seems so far away!!!! I bet the democrats wish we could hold national elections open this long!!!

ALPA would be better for your airline. Its that easy.

By the way, national elections do go this long. Its called absentee voting. I do it every single election and am able to vote up to a month ahead of time. Also, many counties have the ability for people to walk into the office and vote early as well weeks ahead of time. JFI

"JUST VOTE"

The desperate plea of a failed ALPA drive.

The numbers aren't there to win and the OC knows it.

Nobody knows what the tallie is so far. Not even the NMB. The OC is just not taking ANY chances because you will not have this opportunity for a LONG time.

If you are pro ALPA, VOTE! The Colgan vote failed by FOUR votes. There were dozens of people who were pro ALPA and didn't vote because they thought it was a slam dunk. This is why the OC is pleaing with people to vote.

I don't agree with your "if your not ALPA your not S*&T"

I think there is a feeling by many ALPA members at the majors, that I know, that they don't expect people who didn't vote for ALPA at Skywest would NOT fill out their ALPA membership when they get to their major airline. They don't feel this way about corporate pilots.

There has been no "settlement." DD decorated some room close the the SLC Chief Pilot's office with some F$%& TF graffiti. TF was the Chief Pilot in SLC at the time. DD wouldn't fess up to it and took the Donald Trump trip. He's out on the back nine right now with O.J. O.J.'s looking for the real killer and DD is looking for who really wrote that stuff on the wall. There hasn't been a "settlement." DD presented his case a long time ago to a judge or somebody and is waiting to hear. Don't hold your breath waiting for DD getting his job back or a big chunk of change

Just thought I would post one of vtech's previous posts. It shows his excellence and wisdom in speculation.

DD did get his job back you idiot. I love your attitude. So, which one are you DL, JB, TF, ME or maybe BH? No...probably not, just a moron.

Agreed...It's a great feeling to know that guys like that are part of Skywest pilot group. Regardless of the outcome of a union it makes me sick to my stomach to think that these types are around. These are types that probably get a sick thrill when a fellow pilot is wrongfully terminated. Guys who say. "Haha hope he was senior to me."

His grammar is like JB's.

yeah, 'cause union guys are never like that.

as to the title of this thread and all the crap that has naturally ensued; what the OC won't mention (it's not that they don't know or won't tell you) is that this is far, far away from being a slam dunk for them. they won't mention that the large majority of pilots at SkyWest are mostly happy with the way things work around here compared to other airlines. They don't want to mention that the hardest group they've had selling is the 'formerly represented by ALPA group.'

This election will be very close, and I don't think either said thinks it is a 'slam dunk.' In the end, I'm still predicting something like a 40/60 split FOR/AGAINST. prepare yourselves for all the excuses and spin if it goes down as a NO vote, when the truth will be that this pilot group wasn't buying what they were selling, and their message, though heard loud and clear, wasn't compelling enough to tempt them (us) to change what we have.

if I'm wrong, I'll recant.

What I have told SKYW pilots who told me they were on the fence over the past few days, Tuesday is right around the corner, kind of late in the game to not know. JUST VOTE. No matter what button you push, dont be apathetic about it.

Amen to that.

Anyone who doesn't vote, whether for or against, forfeits any right to complain about any union/non-union issues at SKYW ever again.

Thats it. Maybe you can fool them into voting for ALPA.

If you call to vote "no" maybe it will trun out to be a "yes" vote if you screw it up.

If you dont call at all, its sure to be a "no" vote.

Maybe the OC can pick up a few "stupid" votes.

Desperate times call for desperate posts.

Just look around the Skywest crew lounges, only 15% of the pilots care to wear ALPA attire. Well lets just say you double or triple that number for people who vote yes and you might get lucky to have 30-45 percent voting yes. The numbers just aren't there. I know its a frustrating thing for many. I am glad its all over in less than 72 hours.

I wouldn't wear anything either if it meant having a target on my back and puts my family in potential financial jeapordy.

The difference is that a union guy cannot unilaterally fire you. Apperantly TF can.

I don't think the OC has said its a slam dunk. They wouldn't even say that if it were. These are lessons learned from Colgan. Of course its going to be close. This is why its important that you vote if you are leaning for ALPA.

Also, don't forget that management has been trying extraordinarily hard to sell you also. There is a reason why they seem to be acting so lately.
