trying to get a feel of what the colgan pilots would be willing to fly the Q400 for. FO's and CA's

Yeah Buddy! We done get FAs too!

We shouldn't accept any less than 28/hr FIRST YEAR FO, and 55/hr FIRST YEAR CAPT pay. Up the scales from there, by 3 or 4 dollars an hour.....
Any less and we look like a bunch of retards.
DO NOT ACCEPT ********************TY PAY JUST BECAUSE A PLANE IS COOL. That's one of the reasons this industry is going down the tubes.....st00pid kids wanna fly fer nothing.

What an ODD post!
It's like the pilots have AN option to 'ASK' or 'DEMAND' a certain pay rate.

Pilots will fly whatever NWA will TELL the pilots to fly!

First year CA pay on the Q400 at Horizon is 65 an hour. Why should we accept $10 an hour less??

should be higher then the pinnacle 50 seat crj pay scale
should be at least.....1st year capt $60 hr and go up 2 bucks a year
larger plane more pay thats how this industry is supposed to work
don't set the bar lower then is fair because you have shiny plane lust

The seveny seat prop operators are Horizon, ASA, American Eagle and Island Air. There is also Lynx but they haven't started up yet.

OF those i believe the average is about 57 or 58 for first year CA pay. With Management saying that we will be somewhere in the middle it can't be less than 55. 55 would be the lowest in the industry.

Management's job is to get us to fly them for the least amount possible. Our job is to try to get as much money as possible to fly them. There is nothing personal about it. hopefully it will be a bipartisan decision though.

I think the FO's are going to get the short end of this stick though. I hope they up FO pay and come up with a standard rate for all of the planes. Start at 23 and hour with second year over 30 per hour on all three rigs.

One more thing to consider. Q400's are used because the profit margin is higher on them then the 50-70 seat jets on these markets. Shouldn't that mean that the pay should at least be compared to 70 seat jet rates? The idea that jet drivers should make more per hour is not right.

Oh God... will you quit posting when you don't understand WTF you're talking about?

Colgan pilots won't be flying for Northwest, genius. They'll be flying under Continental colors in those Q-400's.

Additionally, IF they were unionized, they could absolutely demand a certain pay rate if it wasn't already in their contract, then they'd either negotiate it or they wouldn't have to fly the airplanes period.

Been there, done that.

Since they are NOT union, however, they will fly them for whatever Uncle Phil wants to pay them.

Welcome to PCL.

p.s. Sticky, your avatar is... um... distracting. ;) Is that an Emirates F/A? If so, I may need to go down and visit my buddy Tareq who went there last year. :D
