We shouldn't accept any less than 28/hr FIRST YEAR FO, and 55/hr FIRST YEAR CAPT pay. Up the scales from there, by 3 or 4 dollars an hour.....
Any less and we look like a bunch of retards.
DO NOT ACCEPT ********************TY PAY JUST BECAUSE A PLANE IS COOL. That's one of the reasons this industry is going down the tubes.....st00pid kids wanna fly fer nothing.

The seveny seat prop operators are Horizon, ASA, American Eagle and Island Air. There is also Lynx but they haven't started up yet.

OF those i believe the average is about 57 or 58 for first year CA pay. With Management saying that we will be somewhere in the middle it can't be less than 55. 55 would be the lowest in the industry.

Management's job is to get us to fly them for the least amount possible. Our job is to try to get as much money as possible to fly them. There is nothing personal about it. hopefully it will be a bipartisan decision though.

I think the FO's are going to get the short end of this stick though. I hope they up FO pay and come up with a standard rate for all of the planes. Start at 23 and hour with second year over 30 per hour on all three rigs.

One more thing to consider. Q400's are used because the profit margin is higher on them then the 50-70 seat jets on these markets. Shouldn't that mean that the pay should at least be compared to 70 seat jet rates? The idea that jet drivers should make more per hour is not right.

What an ODD post!
It's like the pilots have AN option to 'ASK' or 'DEMAND' a certain pay rate.

Pilots will fly whatever NWA will TELL the pilots to fly!

Oh God... will you quit posting when you don't understand WTF you're talking about?

Colgan pilots won't be flying for Northwest, genius. They'll be flying under Continental colors in those Q-400's.

Additionally, IF they were unionized, they could absolutely demand a certain pay rate if it wasn't already in their contract, then they'd either negotiate it or they wouldn't have to fly the airplanes period.

Been there, done that.

Since they are NOT union, however, they will fly them for whatever Uncle Phil wants to pay them.

Welcome to PCL.

p.s. Sticky, your avatar is... um... distracting. ;) Is that an Emirates F/A? If so, I may need to go down and visit my buddy Tareq who went there last year. :D

Yea....you tell them Bunny....I mean lear....oh man, who's fighting with who now. I say fly them for the saab rates + a dollar.

Well, I am not very optimistic that pay on the Q-400 will be anything like Horizon's, but it doesn't help when Lynx sets their pay at $50.00/hour. Another consideration is that a good majority of the pilots flying the Q-400 will be senior with + 5 years longevity. Personally, anything less than $55.00/hr is too low, and $30.00 for second year F/O pay. First year F/O pay for all three types of equipment should be in the $23.00-24.00 range. I'm guessing that isn't going to happen, but it is something to strive for.
I don't doubt for a second that Pinnacle Holdings is going to jam a crappy pay/benefits package down our throats, and until we are formally a member of ALPA and have a contract we are going to have to swallow it. The union is a necessary evil in this industry, and irregardless of the scope/integration issues with the PCL guys.
We at 9L can only fly what is out there on the ramp, and hope that we can negotiate better compensation/benefits, work rules and a realistic plan to deal with PCL ALPA. I think that there are valid arguments on both sides, but like I said, if it's on the ramp we kinda have to fly it or get SH**CANNED. Hopefully, the lawyers will get this crap sorted out. With everyday that passes the more apathy I feel toward this whole friggin job.

Exactly. Colgan pilots have little to NO voice in how much they will get paid to fly the Q's.

this isn't 100% true. there are many captains that have been contacted about what rates they would fly them for. Most would not leave their current position for any less than a certain rate. I believe that if their rate isn't hight enough they will be hard pressed to find any captains to take the transition.

They also said that they were going to set the rates in the middle of the pack. that means that it will be somewhere between 55 and hour and 65 and hour. Granted lynx is there to wreck the day but i am 100 percent positive that with a 50/hr first year scale they will not be able to staff it.
