I own a golf cart and utility vehicle dealership. My advise is worth what you are paying for it but if you have a family and can live without the extra money, enjoy you time with your off with you family, because if you own your own business you will not have any time off.

Just my 2.5 cents

P.S. Anyone interested in buying a golf cart dealership?

Just flew with a guy who breeds quarter horses on his ranch, says each one will go anywhere from 60 to 85k at auction.
So when are you going to buy a ranch and get started?

I know a guy that owns a "ranch" size property, he says he pays about as much on property taxes each month as most people pay for their monthly house mortgage.

A guy in Orlando extracts venom from snakes and sells it.

That is his primary bisness. He drops as much of his flying as he can. His brother is a pilot for NWA.

Home Inspections

Prior to my mistake of getting furloughed from United, I stayed home on my days off and raised my kids.

Now that I'm about three years into the non-sched lifestyle, my wife left me for a better deal, and I'm broke, I chill with my little one's on my days off when they're not in school, but when they are I perform Home Inspections.

I average somewhere between 300 and 400 bucks a pop. Takes about 3 hours to do the inspection and another hour or so to write it up. Not too bad a gig, and people dig the idea that an airline captain is looking over their house.

I Don't Have a Second Job

I work enough as it is, so I don't have a second job.

I spend a lot of time in the gym when I'm at home, so that takes up 2-3 hours each day, depending on what's scheduled for a particular day.

Then there are hobbies, mostly building stuff and working with tools.

I'm averaging 18-20 days off a month right now, so it is tempting to take a hobby and turn it into a job. However, a hobby tends to be more fun when it is a hobby and not a job. Besides, all of the bills are paid off and a second job would mostly be for something to do and not for the extra money.

I'll bet your co-workers would agree with that last sentiment.

Ty ... you are soooo gay. You got your feelings hurt by Clyde on ANOTHER thread so now you chase him around Flightinfo and try to zing him back on other UNRELATED threads. You need to push back from the keyboard and GET A LIFE!
