Just curious, what other careers are pilots (corp.major, regional etc..) when they are not flying. I have alot of time off and contemplating a few ideas. My one buddy is selling mortgages and another has a computer co. I dont think I have seen this subject approached for a while and I think there are alot of bright folks on this board, so I am interested to see how it goes..

I spend alot of my free time buying and remodeling real estate. If you know how to do most of the work on your own, you can really make some serious money doing it. If you dont know what you are doing as far as fixing things around the house, you can always go help out with Habitat for Humanity, as they are in most communities and always looking for extra help on housing projects. Its also nice to help someone out that might really need the help.

Bought a beach house on the Gulf of Mexico in March, fixed it up this Spring, and now we do weekly rentals.

Just like XTW...taking care of my daughter. Doesn't pay well though (in CASH, that is).

Same as above, raising kids and enjoying my quality of life. Just flew with a Capt who said a lot of pilots mess up the best part time job in the world by trying to start a business. If you have the ability, time and drive, go for it. But I'd rather drink beer and enjoy less stress.

Just flew with a guy who breeds quarter horses on his ranch, says each one will go anywhere from 60 to 85k at auction.

I "know a guy" who sells dime bags and clears that in a month.
