You guys crack me up.....Oooooh, the end of the airline......Oooooh, only west pilots will get hired elsewhere. Right.
So, back on Earth, we have a real problem with a bloated, bureaucratic union that has long since stopped representing its members. It lives only for itself. We are going to get rid of it.
The only reason West pilots are big ALPA lovers right now is Nic. They want that seniority real bad. Unfortunately, that award will never see the light of day. Never. It was unfair, and everyone seems to know that whether or not they admit it. Even you dramatic, emphatic west posters here on FI make it pretty clear: you're standing there with a lottery ticket about the size of an A330 that you can't wait to cash. On who's back are you riding? Where are all the profits made? What changed the day after the merge that made East so profitable that it is able to support your money losing operation? (BTW: where's our thank you for the profit sharing you get, even though you guys don't make money? Yeah, I never see you boys talking about that on FI.)
Whatever, anyway, you aren't going to be ALPA anymore, but you are going to be better off long term. I know you boys will go nuts here in the FI playroom and cry that it's not true.....but, it's true.
All of the posters here who say USAPA will be the same as ALPA are uneducated about the new structure. Very different animal, USAPA, and it will result in a better contract, a better relationship with the company, and something ALPA will never have: accountability. You can never get to the bottom of what happens within ALPA; it's complicated by design. We are going to stop the gravy train for these idiots.
But don't be so scared....god it's really getting annoying. Let it go. All you have is one vote. Whatever happens, it will be fair. It will be democratic. It will be what the majority wants, right?
