JetflyerTool

That's right jetflyertool, Bedford called me at home when they were negotiating a bid with DELTA and asked me to come in and help the alleged underbid. I and my pilot group were instrumental in securing the deal.

Also, congrats on being a "jetflyer". You must be proud of yourself.

I'm with Comair and Fred Butrell said these things last WEDNESDAY about CHQ:

CHQ INITIALLY came to Delta connection not only because they were inexpensive but because DELTA needed another option for REGIONAL JETS than just the CRJ. He said Bombardier was trying to charge ASA and Comair much more for RJs, so DELTA made a point that they didn't need CRJs by getting an ERJ operator at DELTA CONNECTION.

He also said that he thinks US AIR will be liquidated soon. He said that DELTA HAS FIRST RIGHTS to all of CHQ's flying when and if US AIRWAYS goes belly up.

So CHQ will merely repaint their planes and nobody will lose their jobs because they're probably just going to begin flying for Delta instead of US AIRWAYS.

This is good for Delta because they will VERY VERY QUICKLY be able to make a GREAT MARKET PRESENCE with the addition of all of those ERJs.

So nobody should worry about Delta's NEW "GO TO" REGIONAL AIRLINE AND GOLDEN CHILD: CHQ.

Looks like Comair has lost the "GO TO" GOLDEN CHILD position unfortunately and it's gone to the REGIONAL AIRLINE OF THE YEAR. Whoopee.

For me that's a sad thing to see happen, but congrats to you guys at CHQ for underbidding everyone.

And thanks to you,Comair (nee "ClownAir) guys that participated in the "Buy-A-Job" program.Hey,maybe you should bring it back to help lower your costs and make Comair more competitive.I'm sure you mean management when you say "you guys at CHQ",since the only thing we (pilot group) bid on are schedules.

Hey, let's also thank all the mainline pilots for giving Billions in concessions to save their jobs. Get a clue jetflyer. We are still one of the only Mainline or regional carrier that did not give concessions to save our jobs. What BB and Delta do is their deal. We just show up and fly. You think CHQ is your enemy??? Wake up man!!! Have you seen what has been going on around you???

Nothing personal, but we're all competing for Delta's business, and that makes you our competitor. The fact that you're in all of the cities we are, flying the same-sized aircraft makes you our largest competitor.
You sure spend a lot of time saying we're not competitors, and then swooping in to underbid us.

My point is that CHQ is not going to put you out of business. Airtran, Jetblue, Indy, and a host of others will. Yes we are competitors but as a pilot, I am not competing with you. If CHQ underbids Comair, that is a management decision, not a pilot one. And don't come back and say it is because of our contract.

I'm not trying to beat drums, I'm just stating a fact. We both compete for the same customer, Delta Airlines. You directly compete with us for many of our current, and old routes. Before we can worry about indirect competition such as JetBlue, Indy, and Airtran, who do not compete directly with us, rather through our customer, we have to be able to protect ourselves from our direct competition. Once again, nothing personal, but you are our direct competition.

I took some heat for my comments in an earlier post. I wasn't bashing CHQ our COMPETITOR for DELTA CONNECTION FLYING. I was saying that DELTA loved CHQ and would give them plenty of growth even if they lose the US AIRWAYS FLYING.
I didn't say anything bad about CHQ. I did say THANK YOU. I MEANT THAT FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART.

If anything I was trying to help give a wake up call to Comair pilots that our day is over for a while.

Our EVIL MANAGEMENT says that CHQ is getting the growth at Delta because as you say CHQ's EVIL MANAGEMENT is underbidding us.

Comair pilots thought they were doing a noble thing for all of the REGIONAL INDUSTRY when they struck for 90 days. Now it's going to bite Comair pilots in the arse because no one else wanted to continue. Because of this Comair won't grow for a while.

Maybe Comair will have to restructure into a LOW COST REGIONAL like CHQ and MESA to grow again?? Maybe this is the only way. Some people call this the race to the bottom. Is it worth it to Comair pilot's to continue that race?

I don't think the Comair group will budge. The senior Comair guys have a lot of pull and influence. They're happy getting their fat paychecks (even though they're still not paid what they're worth compared to MAJOR airline pay). They don't want a pay cut and senior guys could care less about growth. A lot of F.O.s like me would probably take a pay cut so that I could become a Captain and virtually DOUBLE my pay. Everyone is out for themselves it seems in this game. We all want to provide for our families and have a nice life. I wish there were a way for all of us pilots at all airlines including CHQ to be successful, wealthy, and happy.

Good luck to all,
Jet
