Typhoon, what's wrong with you?! Music without words is like a book without pictures!

No, music without words is just that...music. Too many people lately, focus on who's singing, and how the lyrics go. Words are only there to compliment the music, NOT the other way around. So in your "book" analogy, the music is the pictures. The words are like captions to them, not always necessary.

These kind of groups usually play small, outdoor type venues where you can enjoy relaxed music and a cold Shiner. Guess this makes me the dork o' the board! It sure beats the he!l out of the all top 40 all the time the local radio stations out here play. Hard to describe, not really Nashville style country, not quite rock, just the local flavor. See ya!

Ah! The Toadies! Good call. Being from Socal, I was conditioned to hate all things country, but I'm gradually beginning to appreciate Willy.

I also like music from other categories; the ones listed are the ones in my car right now. I guess I'm on a Blue Grass kick...

For country the Ditzy Chicks because they are political martyrs and media darlings.

For easy listening Barbara Striesand because she is so smart.
Michael Bolton because he is so original and creative.

For hard rock, Barry Mannilow (Ted Nugent with class).

For rap, Emminen because he's got something to say (plus he gives great material for Jamie Kennedy and Weird Al Yankovich).
