1) they actually pretend like everthing is honkey dorey because they get to fly around in larger jets even if at terrible work rules. You think under those contract conditions, an intelligent person would be discussing all the time how and when to change those in the future instead of defending it..

Mesa pilots wouldn't have to defend there contract if idiots like you would stop attacking them. At some point, if attacked enough, any human with a little pride is going to defend themselfs, even if they don't believe what they are saying. This is what happens at Mesa. The first few times a pilot is asked about or attacked because of the contract they agree. It sucks. After awhile, this gets old and they defend it knowing what they are saying is B.S.

The thing is, if others in this industry really want Mesa to imporve there contract in the next round, they should be standing next to them not attacking and isolating them. Your only making it harder on the Mesa pilots and in the long run worse on yourselfs. -Bean

Should the same logic be applied to G O J E T pilots? I don't like the reverse psychology (weak minded) BS and prefer straight to the point. That's a terrible argument to make on an internet board. I can see getting defensive in a face to face situation if the same person keeps bringing it up, but not here where you can choose to not read. Part of the repetitive nature of this is to warn potential job candidates about the situation at Mesa. If the airline has problems finding respectable candidates, maybe it will think twice about offering crappy work rules, just like G O J E T S. Just wonder sometimes how Mesa pilots really feel because not one has come forward on this post and said "what Ornstein has gotten away with is absolute BS". As for my other point, I jumpseated on Mesa during the contract vote a few years and the Captain of that flight said he was a yes voter so he could build his time and go to Southwest. Just seems like a large percentage have accepted this mentality. Just like musical chairs, gotta wonder when will it end.

So I'm riding with my crew to the hotel, along with a crew from another airline. It started with the "who do you fly for?" We told them, and I asked how about yourself, "MESA". It kinda got silent, then one of them talks about the CRJ-900. Someone asks, "what are the rates like for the 900?" One replies with, get this... "who cares man it's a 900, that thing is huge!":angryfire

Just say, "I thought it was a 50 seater. Oh, my mistake. I was thinking of your paycheck."

Join the union!!!!? Who the hell do you think negotiated the contract that Mesa currently has?? If you want it better at your company, you go fight for it....dont pawn it off on another airline....especially one who is actually making money and not in Ch. 11! All other pilots whine about Mesa more than Mesa pilots bitch about it. Granted! it does suck....some things about it, but its not that bad compared to going to work for someone who might be furloughing soon. Ill take the security for now. In 2007 if it comes to it, I WILL be out there with all my fellow pilots holding a sign.

did it ever occur to you that maybe its hard to picky when no one is hiring? 1/3 of the pilots at mesa came on after the shittie union got the contract. How is that their fault? You are flying a mainline jet for regional rates you bastard so shut the F up!
