I rode in a van with a Mesa crew once........the CA smelled like Play-Doh and the FA had bad dandruff.

I have a friend who used to work at Mesa, same story as everybody. wanted to be a pilot. became a pilot. found out what a Mesa pilot life is like. But he is smarter than most. He quit Mesa and got a job flying a RJ for a 135 company.
Well, wait thats what your supposed to do after a couple years at a commuter. Whether your flying t-props or jets. They are a rung on the ladder, stop trying justify/bash working for unreasonably low wages. RP170, what did you make your first and second yr. and Mehoff, stop trying to defend a low ball outfit, your there because its a job, no more no less.

F OFF man you are a D!ck
did it ever occur to you that maybe its hard to picky when no one is hiring? 1/3 of the pilots at mesa came on after the shoottie union got the contract. How is that their fault? You are flying a mainline jet for regional rates you bastard so shut the F up!
In 07 when the contract is up show some support and help your fellow pilot out. Until then shut up and back off, or don't ever dare try to J/S on mesa you D!ck Wrangler!

No one is hiring? There are in fact jobs out there. I see you have 3000 hours, perhaps no one hiring with those kind of hours and YOU are the problem, not the industry. Every single post I have seen from you in all these threads simply reek of a person who is his own worst enemy.
Now go on and cuss me out too in another one of your tantrums little baby boy...
And reach into your backpack and pull out some more hair gel.

Maybe Mr. Mehoff was hired by Mesa, before everyone else started hiring. (before Jan 2004) But he is right most of the pilots at Mesa were hired after the contract. I know several that were recently shot down by other regionals, before getting hired by Mesa. No one knows why they were not hired.

Here are a 2 fact's about the Mesa contract. It was one of the first signed after 911. And their was this thing called Freedom - that was taking the flying away from the mesa pilots. Lines were being reduced by 20 every bid period.

The Mesa contract is really good if you have been their 10+ years, and your involved with ALPA. Get a copy of the line awards for PHX and you will see most of the ALPA leadership are on the topend of the payscale and rarely fly if its not their day off they get the trip droped for ALPA.

Its funny how most of the people that complain about Mesa's pilot contract don't even work their. During the Comair strike I remember having 300$ pulled from my paycheck to help their strike fund. I would hope the Mesa guys would get the same support in 2007 or when ever their conract is up.

DON'T confuse the Freedom A listers with the Freedom @ MCO - thoes guys were displaced out of CLT and did not have a choice.

And did ya all know,

MY D*CK is bigger than all yours combined.........

Seriously...

WE can't be that shallow.

Why dont you compare a 5th year CRJ 900 CA at Mesa with a 5th year CA at XJT. Ill tell you the truth, people like you are the reason this "career" has been swirling down the toliet bowl.

I was curious, so I checked them both out.
5 year CRJ/ERJ $59 at Mesa
5 Year in 700 $62 at Mesa
5 year in 900 $67 at Mesa

5 year in 135 at ExpressJet $58
5 year in 145 at ExpressJet $66

These pay rates are not that much different. Actually Mesa has the upper hand on both the smallest aircraft in each companys fleet, and the largest.

I'm not defending Mesa, I just hate to see any regional airline pilot think they are better than someone else cause they work for a different company. All regional airlines are not anything to brag about. They all suck. i dont care if you make $2 an hour more than the other guy and you get 30 cents more per diem, or that you get 1 or 2 additional days off a month. Who give a crap. When it comes down to it, they all suck.

Your comparison is not fairly balanced. Since there are only a handful of 135's on property anyway, a 135 Captain at XJT will only be on that payscale for a couple of months before holding 145 Captain at which time his pay will be increased. This is drastically different from a CRJ/ERJ Captain at Mesa moving over to the 700 or 900 since those airplanes have smaller seniority lists. So, a new XJT CA will be at 145 pay within the first few months of upgrading making $66 an hour, while the Mesa Captain would have to hold the 900 in order to make the same amount of pay. How long do you think that would take? I'm guessing its more than a few months. So, in the meantime he is going to be stuck making $7 an hour less than the XJT Captain. $7 an hour IS a big difference when factored over the course of a month or a year. Also, lets not forget that the "largest" aircraft at XJT still seats half as many people as the largest aircraft at Mesa...and they are making a buck more per hour. Woopee.

You can selectively go through and pick things out to compare the two all you want, but I will still be enjoying my 20+ day vacation next month while being paid for two 4 day trips that were dropped for touching my vacation period. That is all that I have to say about that.

At Mesa if you fly the CRJ, you are trained to fly ALL of the crj's. Why do you say there is a different training process? Junior CRJ CA's fly the 700/900's too. Yes, our new IAH base went senior for CA's due to pay since only 900's will fly there, but our other bases with 200/700/900 flying is fairly evenly spread out between all pilots because of the way lines are built.
