V-22 Osprey cannot fly in ice

Try to fly that CH-53 through moderate ice! The vast majority of helicopters are not equipped nor approved to fly in known ice. At least the V-22 has the altitude flexibility to possibly avoid it.

They were doing a week's worth of tests out of Santa Fe a couple months back.

And it flew back this way again today. It is a pretty distinct sounding aircraft, and its noise signature really its pretty significant when its in a low speed configuration. Easily time to go find the camera, wait for it to come in view, then take pictures :)

I realize the 53 aint the most quiet aircraft either.
