Good chance are these are just a few guys who forgot to do it and/or are computer illiterate. Now they are "hostages". This is the oldest negotiating ploy in the book.

Well Glass is back on property, wait till he gets fully spooled up. I'm sure distance learning debacle was just a gem thrown into his lap... He's got a chubby now.....wait till he gets full blood flow going....

Just gotta be smarter than theprick....

DLT (Distance Learning Training) is a quarterly requirement at this POS Airline known as USAirways.

Being a requirement, it needs to be completed to remain a qualified crewmember on property....Like it or not, it is required....End of story.

If USAPA and Cleary lovers choose to ignore this requirement by the company and the FAA, so be it.....Suffer the consequences.

All of you Gomer Pyle types in CLT who think you are "ONBOARD" by violating this edict by the company and FAA, you might want to reassess this option from your SUPREME leader....

I'm willing to bet that your SUPREME leader finished the DLT on time...He has once again led his lemmings off the cliff with non consequences to himself or his lieutenants in this bogus name of a UNION....More an association of idiots.

But so be it, remain "ONBOARD"...it's a fun game, isn't it???

Oh, and by the way, if you hear the word "DORK" after checking on to center frequency, that would be me, because it is a most fitting word for you fools that think that anybody gives a ********************e!!

I agree that your former management gave you the shaft....that cannot be disputed, however, at this time in your life, it's time to grow up and stop blaming anybody else for your former woes in life.

Life is too short....Man up, take a deep breath, accept the Nic, and get a new contract before you're dead!!

Happy flying to all those who completed DLT!!

Dork!

USAPA never told anyone not to do their distance learning.

What are you going to do when they close PHX?

That is not what I heard, I have several friends who were encouraged not to take it and promised that there would be no consequences for doing so.

Hi Weasel......nice retort!!!...It's really exasperating trying to challenge an opponent who comes to the table with no integrity, knowledge or wit with an unarmed arsenal!!

USAPA may not have "told" anyone not to do their distance learning, but the intent was implied..Therefore being a "Good Union Pilot" may cost your brothers and sisters their careers.

If being "ONBOARD" makes you happy and self fulfilled, by all means, GO FOR IT....

Yes, in the future I do see the PHX base being closed....USAir has never been competitive in the WEST only because they retrench and retreat at any competitive battle because they think only PHL and CLT are somehow the only money makers...When WN gets their ETOPS certification, you can bet the Doogie will say we cant compete with them and pull out of the Hawaii market....Crappy strategy, but it is what it is.

So I guess my last few years remaining after they close PHX and a joint contract is implemented, about five years, I will be able to fly your highly cherished CLT-BUF, PHL-ITH, east coast crap routes instead of PHX-HNL, PHX-OGG,PHX-LIH, PHX-KOA....

Would you please be my first officer??

Your arguments on this web site don't pass the smell test.

Happy Flying...........On the east coast..

Captairbusbb....Cheers!!

I know ten pilots that would gladly exchange Cleary's head for their jobs back!

Nah. Cleary probably promised there would be 40 virgins waiting for them after they got fired. You think he'll deliver?

Firing pilots for not finishing "Computer Distant Learning" is complete BS. I mean, is not that they flew airplanes recklesly and put people's lives in danger. US Airways management is in the process of taking as many hostages as they can, plain and simple.

That may be true but it's also true that a number of pilots are deliberately putting themselves in harm's way. For that reason I have no sympathy.

And the funniest part is that it's all for moot: Parker has stated there'll be no contract until the seniority "dispute" is settled so USAPA's little tantrums are completely irrelevant.

FYI putting yourself in harms way is a very common tactic of union pilots. Behaving like a bunch of sheep will get you no where. UAL pilots have a mandatory test due today. Not many have complied in an effort to show management we will not cooperate, I guess you have no sympathy for us either.

None whatsoever. Deliberate non-compliance with company procedures is grounds for termination and you do so at your own risk. There are plenty of ways to send a message without risking your job.

Isn't Lye Hogg the bloke that got the Pilgrim DHC-6 on to a frozen pond when it was experiencing a severe cockpit fire??

That response says it all about you. Wow management loves you.

Love is in the air ...

Speaking of management love ... There has been a little memo on wings since yesterday.

Excerpt:

Currently a wide variety of lanyards, badge backers and clips are worn by employees to secure their
company-issued ID and airport badges. This causes confusion as it doesn’t present the professional look
that we are striving to achieve in accordance with our goals to consistently deliver Reliability,
Convenience and Appearance for our customers. It also is, quite frankly, creating divisiveness among our
workforce as lanyards, badge backers and other ID holders are often used to promote individual and
organizational agendas that are counterproductive to creating a positive working environment for all
employees.

So, any idea when the court will rule on the company case?

So, any idea when the court will rule on the company case?
This judge doesn't do anything quickly. She could call for a bench trial or simply issue a ruling at any time. Figure on six months to two years. Then the appeal...

I haven't heard of ten pilots being fired. It's a myth.
El Maniac Presidente' sure seems to be upset about something. Could it be his advice is now costing his cronies their careers?

No myth. Fact.

I hope they Fire every single one of those coward yellow lanyard wearers.
