I totally agree. CACTUS CACTUS CACTUS CACTUS CACTUS! "Ladies and gentlemen, welcome aboard US Airways FLT ***, owned and operated(bought and payed for) by America West Airlines.

The website really makes me think..

about how great ALPA was..

when they believed in DOH, and voting, and pensions, and RIGS, and paychecks for pilots..

and didn't give membership to scabs.

Yeah, Prater has a lot to offer.

Sounds like USAPA is way ahead of ALPA in the speed in which it gives away all remnants of that which ALPA had gained over the years, in it's blind quest to jam down a DOH seniority list at all costs.

Keep you eyes open!

Keeping your(Easties) eyes wide open when your head is up your @ss doesn't do a lot.

Yes, I have read the transcripts, and no, he didn't lie about anything. Again, the information you are referring to was governed by a confidentiality agreement that Captain Beebe was under with USAirways. He was legally prohibited from disclosing any of that information to the Express pilots or their MECs. He never lied to them, however. Not once did he promise them airplanes. No, he didn't tell them that they weren't going to get the airplanes, but again, he wasn't legally able to.

As a member of the PSA MEC during that time.....He promised a lot in those meetings which turned out to be false predications in which he knew the truth about. To me, he lied.

Sounds like USAPA is way ahead of ALPA in the speed in which it gives away ...

ALPA gave away a several billion dollar pension without so much as a vote for the members (though the members demanded a vote and were promised a vote). I won't list the many other votes the members were denied.

ALPA gave away... but..

Today, if there are more give backs (AHAHAHAHA!) then in this case it will be the pilots who do so (AHAHAHHAH!) through a vote that they are responsible for.

I know, I know.. it is really hard to adapt to this concept of membership voting after so many years of only voting when ALPA wilson polls indicated the membership would vote along the ALPO national plan. I know, I know... ALPA always promised us the Wilson polls weren't used to see what they could get away with. The polls were all about learning how to better represent us. If that is true, how come I had the opportunity to participate in ten times more polls than votes?

The days of deferring responsibility to ALPO are over. We are responsible for how we vote... or choosing not to be able to vote.

How many votes has Bradford let you have?

And who was limiting your votes? Hmm, let me see, was it JACK STEPHAN? (You remember him, but he's USAPA's flunky now).

Face it, you traded down to a Yugo out of pride of ownership. The repair bills will eat you alive!

Have you ever considered applying to be an ALPA rep? Or an ex-third wife?:D

ALPO didn't get those rates. Those rates (Parity +1%) were offered by Wolf as part of a concessionary contract. The givebacks of Duty Rigs, vacation, medical, etc. that were part of that contract ensured everyone worked nearly four more days every month.....

...and you guys signed off on that ?????
Man,you guys are dumber than I thought!! You never, ever give up workrules during negotiations outside of a BK filing, because once you do, they are very difficult to get back. What you did was you gave up workrules in exchange for a one-time payout. Hell,it wasn't even a payraise that came out of Wolf's pocket. It was a payraise that was funded by what you gave back !!! Shhhesh....you guys never cease to amaze.........

Thanks,Cobra. I have to agree, although you can say I'm a little biased....;)

Why is it that US Airways seems to be the only company, that I am aware of, that does not have pilot ratification. I was a UAL, and even their contracts in BK had to be ratified by the members. Now I do know that UAL current payrates were agreed upon by the board via a side letter.

Why is it, that the USAirways pilots would allow a union board to do vote for them, let alone a president who does not work for their own airline. Just curious how this situation happens?

Working on my MBA thesis.

I can answer for Turtle: ALPA is to blame for everything and the US Airways pilots are to blame for nothing. ALPA was on the grassy knoll in Dallas back in '63 too...

ALPA didn't help the big mainline guys staple 1800 AWA pilots, what a terrible thing. Doesn't everyone realize these are US AIRWAYS pilots. Just having their butt's saved by a small little commuter airline like AWA is very a traumatic thing for them.

Very well said !!!

Hey Turtle,

You are an idiot. It wasnt ALPA who voted away pensions and incomes. It was our republican leaning judges. Concession were bought and paid for by the pilots themselves when they voted on them.

USAPA is a usless piece of dog turd. While the rest of the airline unions are working on Open Skies, Raising the bar, Getting the right Pres. elected etc. USAPA is trying to figure out how to screw their fellow America West Pilots. Shame on USAPA. And Turtle you sound like a whiny little brat.

America West pilots the rest of us feel bad that you have to work with a bunch of old future scabs. I think the youngest on their seniority list is like 59 and half. I bet if you gave these guys at USAPA a chance to cross a picket line and steal your jobs they would be falling all over themselves to get it done.

Great points, save for the president. It won't matter which party gets elected. You may remember that Clinton let the AA pilots strike 20 minutes (Clinton is the finest Republican candidate that the Democratic party ever nominated.).

I'm not a John McCain fan, and he has publicly said some things about pilots that concern me. That said, Obama simply scares the crap out of me. His pie-in-the-sky ideas sound great, but SOMEONE will have to pay for them (and I don't think it's gonna be Bill Gates ore Warren Buffett).

Yeah, I doubt we'll ever see a Nic award. Just get the DOH implimented so you Westies can stop the company from wrongly furloughing your pilots out of seniority. The west is again makings things worse for itself.

Next up, the UAL DOH merger... Stay tuned.

HAVE A NICE DAY  . UAL is fully aware of USAPA's agenda, and will squash it like a bug.

USAPA may have an agenda, but the EAST like UAL only care about DOH. EAST would dump USAPA in a heartbeat for DOH with UAL and to have ALPA back.

So squash away UAL!

That's right the East would even dump their own mother's in a bottomless pit for the chance to staple 1800 pilots. SLLLEAAAAZZZZEEEE BAAAAGGSSSSS.

It most certainly does matter. In fact, it's the single most important thing affecting our careers for many years to come.

You may remember that Clinton let the AA pilots strike 20 minutes (Clinton is the finest Republican candidate that the Democratic party ever nominated.).

The APA told Clinton's Chief White House Counsel that they wanted him to issue a PEB. He did exactly as they requested. It would be nice to have another President that would do the same, instead of someone like Bush who famously said "there will be no airline strikes on my watch." Remember McCain calling us all "greedy" and "lazy?" Sure you want to stick us all with that guy for the next 4-8 years? Think about your career.

Obama scares you more than McCain?
who's paying for the Iraq war?
Who's paying for the bailout?
Who's paying for Katrina still after Bush threw money at it, thinking that would substitute for competence.
These are MUCH more expensive than Obama's health care plan. MUCH!

Like education, police, military, infrastructure- some spending is simply cheaper than the alternative. And much of that you support despite enormous price tags- the only difference between mccain and obama in that area is where the line is drawn. You want to keep your taxes down= stop spending money on things that aren't investments in your country. Make up spending, like Katrina, are way more expensive than preventative and investment spending- ie: health care, military, and education.

What we truly can't afford is ANOTHER C-student in the white house acting on their "gut".

Any pilot that does not vote for Obama does not grasp what Mcpain stands for. Obama will be the next president.

I can hear it now. The East will be demanding DOH with no Widebody Fences at UAL. Just like the last merger attempt.

UAL will not want DOH with AAA.

Katrina was the left's attempts to rebuild a utopia to absolve themselves for their abject failure in fighting the war on poverty.

The bailout was the left's attempt to control the outcomes of the markets to try absolve themselves of the results of meddling with the credit markets to achieve a "home for everyone" utopia.

The Iraq war will be money and blood wasted if the goal shifts to an evacuation of troops rather than establishment of an environment where peaceful self-rule can reign. Unless you truly believe there will be no more conflicts requiring the support of our global allies, abandoning Iraq sends a message that America will not finish what it started. Who can we expect to support us next time we need to show global solidarity against a real threat? Just as the left condecendingly treats the people of Alaska as stupid for their admiration of Palin, they must think the Afghanis are too blind to see that if they drag out their theatre of conflict America will eventually lose it's will to fight.

Obama pretends to be alot of things and does impressions of admirable people, but when you strip away the theatrics he is employing to get elected, you see that he will be but one bit player in the liberal cabal that is ill equipped to provide any better leadership than they have in Congress for the past 2 years.

They scorched the earth for more that 1800 pilots. History will recount USAPA and their friends at Jetblue as a major factor in the erosion of pilot unity, respect, and wealth. It's a new world for this profession and short-sighted pilots are part of the problem.
We're doing it to ourselves.

Whoa! Wait just a damn minute. Why are you dragging JetBlue into this ********************storm? We have nothing to do with it. I'm a B6 pilot and I think USAPA and everything they stand for is BS.

We DO have member ratification now, under USAPA.

I think the fact that ALPA had their way with us so many times when we didn't have it is one of the top three reasons they are no longer representing us.
