First of all, if you are a gainfully employed US Airways pilot and have access to WINGS: You can go to the Flight Operations section.

In that section you can read the following documents in PDF format: The AWA contract, the AAA Contract, LOA 93, etc.

According to these documents AWA Captain's top out at $141.85/hr, and FO's top out at $93.61/hr. There is also a $4.00/$3.00 per hour kicker for HI/Intl (Cosa Rica), so TECHNICALLY the FO going to Hawaii is getting $96.61 in the B757, so that definitely is better than the PHL B757 driver going to Shannon @ the "93- $95 per hour" (our pay is for all fleets, BTW).

If you are comparing, you really should count in the NB FO pay on the east: $85.00/hr (also these are rates for pilots with at least 12-15 years of time on property).

We get 1 for 2 Duty, 1 for 3:45 TAFB Rig, 4 weeks vacation, full DH pay & full cancellation pay.

For every year that you insist on remaining on LOA93 your Captains give up (at least) $45,000.00 in lost wages, time off and other contract improvements.

The beauty of a contract vote? We each get ONE vote, and you can do that in the privacy of your home. No one will know which way you vote. So, if Parker offers the current AWA contract + current DAL Fleet wages....would you vote for it? I probably would.

LURKERS: Are you tired of USAPA's losses? Are you tired of LOA93? Are you now convinced that SSM&P could not produce the "slam dunk" of DOH? Are you ready for a POSITIVE change?

  1. Become a member in good standing.
  2. Become informed and read court documents & proceedings.
  3. Become involved and ask questions of your USAPA representatives.
  4. Prepare to vote for the general elections.
  5. If you have the time and skill set, please volunteer.
  6. Prepare to vote on a contract proposal; DO NOT accept the proposal unless you think it is the very best that the company can put out.
  7. Be vocal with USAPA and with the company.

I'm all for the pay raise and contract improvements, but we can't accept the provision that makes pilots call scheduling after a trip to ask if they can go home. Plus with the current west contract the west folks wouldn't be gaining anything. We need improvements across east and west.

This thread is supposed to be about awards for new hires on the East side. Please leave your negativity out west. Leave forum posts for third listers alone, we don't care about the past.

It seems that there will be a lot of movement for those hired as East 3rd list.

Your either being disingenuous or just reading the pay rates wrong. Your comparing AWA 15 year pay scales with US 8 year pay scales.

AWA 757 year 8 = 86.94
US 757 year 8 = 93.42 plus 3.50 int override even on domestic flights.

Truth is both pay scales suck big time, but here's the kicker. With the attrition on the east, soon most 12-15 year pilots will be holding captain positions, with the exception of the guys who live in base and bid the 76 or 330 just to stay home and collect a paycheck. The west is looking at nothing buy stagnation. Third listers will quickly move up the list on the east. Voting in the Nic instantly puts 1600 pilot above them. No Thanks!

No thanks is right. 3 listers know what job security looks like and that does not include the Nic. West bottom will remain bottom, while 2012 hires will upgrade in 5 years at the East division.

All it takes is 900 or so East pilots to vote in a contract (with the 1600 west). You really think the senior folk are going to pass on a 45k plus raise just so you junior folks can grab a few captain slots? Wake up already. The end is near. Here comes St. Nic!!!!

Keep telling yourselves THAT!! You boyz obviously have no clue at the east pilot's resolve. Merger talk is in the AIR, and the NIC will die a fast death. Ironic how the Frontier and AirTran fiasco has not taught the west anything??? When, and if, a merger is announced, PHX being the least common denominator, will be spun-off. Those of you shallow in Aviation history, research previous mergers and fragmentation. You will be enlightened.

First of all, Crzpilot did not mention what year the pay per hour was. I presumed that it was top wage.

Second: Flyby, I am not being negative. I am positive that a change is coming shortly. I am encouraging all LCC pilots to first of all become MIG's. I am encouraging them to get involved and help make positive changes. I AM NOT rattling a sabre screaming "SEPARATE OPERATIONS & LOA 93 FOREVER!" OR "THE NIC IS DOA!"

Congratulations to the new hires and returning pilots. We too will be offering the 50 some pilots jobs back in PHX soon, and will be hiring too. 95% of our retirees are Captains (not so high a percentage for the East based crew). We will have a joint contract to vote on shortly because Parker needs it and wants it. He just has to pay for it.

And 3rd listers??
FO pay is pretty bad- do they honestly think they can stretch this battle into an upgrade for them?
Weird -
And phx closing for America west?
I'm swa- I wish usair would pull out of their HQ- but it won't happen- the business community literally bankrolls lcc-
It's an awfully far fetched fear bet you're making trying to justify usapa with "PHX is on the brink of failing"

PIT, STL, MCI, LAS, BWI, LGA, BOS...You get the point. Today's economy is tomorrows obsolescence. Airline business plans change on a weekly basis. Pilots careers are ball and chain attached to these.
