You guys are way too spun up about this.

Adopt the two week plan and life is a lot less stressful.

If your paycheck clears, come to work for two more weeks!

I doubt that. There are 80 CA positions on the 190. All but about the bottom 10 or so are top of scale of over $100/hr. I think there is about a 6 or 7 dollar per hour difference. The West contract is not so much better as to overcome that difference...

It easily overcomes the $7 difference.

Pretty sad comparison

You know what's sadder?
A republic capt w/ the same years of service flying a smaller version of the same type as your "express" carrier makes $18/hr more

The union reimburses the company for FPL, AFAIK.

Honestly I don't know 100%, but I think there are a few positions that are paid for by the company. I realize all are paid by the company, and USAPA will reimburse the company for some of them, but I think contractually the company is required to bear the cost of a few positions...

Either way, it doesn't really matter I guess... :)

ALGFLYR, Do a little fact checking now and then and do not believe everything from USAPA or line pilots. Information can be a dangerous tool in the hands of an informed person. Read the TA and contracts on Wings, it is all there for you to inform yourself, no spin.

P.S.- Do you believe Mowery's laptop got stolen mission impossible style?

Well I found it in the East contract, and I was correct. The company is responsible for paying the President 85 hours per month. They also have to pay and additional 1500 hours in FPL annually to be used however USAPA decides. Any other hours above those, the company will pay, but USAPA must reimburse the company... So yeah, I did a little fact checking... and I was correct. Did you do any fact checking??

Well USAPA will have a new President. It appears Cleary is not a candidate for any office according to the published list from USAPA of the people running...

What about Bad Andy? I thought he was a viable candidate but I didn't see his name...

I had a hell of a lot of respect for what the guy was trying to accomplish.

Andy chose to bow out. He would certainly have gotten the "third list" vote, and some of the PHX vote. Not sure how many "East" votes, and I think he thought the numerical chances were short.

Andy is a very articulate person, and is being encouraged to participate in USAPA as a committee member / chair.

What we do need from the nominees in USAPA is PROVEN leadership. Someone that has demonstrated that ability to lead and show tangible POSITIVE results of that past leadership. These same people need to know how to work SMARTER, not HARDER when it comes to dealing with company management.

If you don't have the right to vote, PLEASE put your affairs in order so that you may do so! There is only one true opponent, and that is the one with the purse strings: The AFA now has a TA to vote on and we are no where near a concluded negotiation. How long do you want to wait for a new contract, better working conditions, and more money?

....You mean, accept the Nic unconditionally... OK, back to square ONE..

The only way you won't see the nic award is if the West is sold separately. Otherwise, you will see it. The APA will make sure of it too if you merge with them.

Godspeed!

The OYSter

ALGFLYR, it is good to get info from somewhere other than USAPA sources. I fact check as much as I can and know that facts can be twisted to massage a message!

Other East pilots, the Nic. is not going away, you can delay FOREVER, but it is not going away.....Your choice, there is no one to work out a solution, you decided that 4/18/2008......

I have the impression that the East and East new hires are happy with the status quo until a merger comes or doesn't

We don't have to accept the nic- the 9th said so. We aren't going to accept the nic- period!
So I guess the westicles will have another decade of stagnation while the upgrade train gets moving on the east! Third listers will be captains in five years WOOHOO

Stagnation? Man your 16 year 320 captains are making less than 12 year Delta F/O's. That's (pay) stagnation. You guys are destroying the profession with your terrible payrates. And because of your selfishness, you are dragging the the industry making it more difficult for the rest of us to increase ours. You wanna fall on your sword, that's your business, but please stop holding up the rest of us.
Hold that head up high though, you're paid less than a Philly trash collector, so you got that going for ya!

Hey Scoot, join our ranks, run for office, negotiate an industry leading contract. Not interested you say, then back to your happy place and leave the rest of us to decide what WE want....
You want to do your part, stand in solidarity with the US pilots when the moment comes... Then well see if you ,and a few others on these forums, will walk the walk..
