Does anyone have any new information on US Airways? Are new hires still mostly going to PHL 190's? I postponed a class date and was thinking about going back. Thanks

There are 12 pilots in class right now in PHX that started Monday. 1 is a returning AWA pilot coming off Military leave and 11 are new hires. All 11 are going to PHL on the 190. The company is saying one of the next classes will have open positions in PHX. Not sure how many or which class though...

I have an "in" at USAirways but was looking at the payscale for the E190 and it doesn't seem very good. Is this true? Anyone know how much I would make year 1-5 as an FO at US Airways?

How long until I can get PHX as a base (where I currently live)?

Thanks!

I've been out here in PHX 4 years with zero movement. I'm afraid a PHX base might take awhile. Over 400 upgrades out east and 37 out west. When an east pilot starts talking about windfalls just walk away laughing. Best of luck though with your decision.

top f/o pay about 55 , not sure about year 1-5,probably average around 46. not very good but have the 190 flying on the property for now.this will probably be the 737 replacement and expect better pay rates if we ever get a new contract.

190 pay sucks. Out West you'll be making a more livable wage, although arguably it sucks as well.

No movement in PHX right now, but rumors of another 40 320 FO's by years end. I'll believe it when I see it.

On reserve, you'll cross the 80k/yr mark in year 3. Year 1 was 40 something, year 2 was 60 something. Most FO's at the 6 yr mark +/- are making 100+k/yr.

Pay is still WAY too low...Should be making about 90-95$/hr in year 4 with 12-15% extra going into the 401k, but the East has other plans and prefers to hold the entire industry back to make a statement.

Still wanna work here?

The 190 has a 12 month seat lock. After that you can bid to a higher paying aircraft. The 190 is actually the highest paying aircraft for the first year on the East or the West. But second year pay is the lowest of all other aircraft. So once you start 2nd year pay, you could bid to higher paying equip.

2nd year pay per hour:

190= 44
737/Airbus (East)= 57
757/737/Airbus (West)= 61
757 (East)= 66
A330 (East)= 73

Our seniority list that just came out last month shows 109 fewer pilots on property than the 7/05 list. So in the past 2 1/2 years we've shrunk 109 posistions and have only upgraded 37 fo's. During the same time the east has had over 400 upgrades, every furlough recalled, new hires, and new equipment with new international routes that only their pilots can bid... very steady movement vs. complete stagnation for the west.... choose carefully.

I have heard rumors that you guys will be loosing a ton of guys to retirement (more than some of the other carriers) Will that help a guy who is just getting on with upgrading in say 7 or so years?

Put a 1 in front of that 7 and that would be closer to reality.

May have been posted on here before, but does anyone have a combined list retirement schedule. I know age 65 changes things but I will take whatever figures are out there.

Nic... why give up hangin' out with the hotties you put up on fbohotties.com for starting airlinehags.com?
