Todays class 7/30 only 17 of 31 showed up. All A319 positions awarded 10-phl 7-dca.

I don't get it. Why so many no shows? Obviously some smartas# is going to make some comment about how crazy it would be to ever return to LCC; but I'm honestly wondering why so many would say yes i'll come back then no show???

Is it just to get back at the company or something??

Green,

They are just buying a few more weeks of having an option: If you tell them that you are NOT coming back, you just gave up your number that day. If you tell them you'll return and then not show up, you also lose the number but a few weeks later. So, they are just keeping their options open for a few more days, this day and time you never know( i.e. 9/11).

That's the truth. It's been very comforting to have that insurance policy (for lack of a better term) for so long. I always figured that if my current employer should furlough or close the flight department I could just go back to USAirways in a matter of time.

Giving up that policy is frightening at best. It means acknowledging that I believe in the choice I made this time.

If, like some of the furloughees, you've made choices in the past that haven't worked out, that's a difficult gamble to take.

allright that makes sense. I'd probably do the same thing. So anyone on here taking the recall????

I have to $hit or get off the pot. It's been almost 7 days since I signed for my take it or leave it letter (May 99). They won't honor a JB contract.

I can't believe the day would come when I would turn down a live in base USAirways job.

Geeeeezzzz. Tough decision.

I feel your pain, Living exactly where I wanted to live driving to CLT. It will be very difficult not to go back, a lifelong dream that came true is hard to toss aside. My heart(and family) tells me to go back but my practical side says run the other way.
I don't have to make the call yet, but I will soon.

"My heart tells me to go back but my practical side says run the other way."

That's the best i've heard our decision explained.

Big Disappointment from the 7/30th recall class. Rumors had it that several wide body AC would be available for this class. As it turns out, only 319 slots were available and awarded. It seems to me that Airways is using the "Big Airplane" carrot once again. In reality, only 17 out of 29 showed up for class. In my opinion 3 to 5 will throw in the towel before the week ends. My personal "Gut Feeling" is that this place has not changed in the last 6 years.... Still A big ????????? proceed with CAUTION !!! That's all I've got to say!!
