On Friday they tell us there is no definite plan to order airplanes, on Monday they put out a newsletter with the order of 27 New 767s on the front page. New hires????? But the same people who denied any aircraft orders, say 200-300 this year.Does anyone out there know of classes beyond Feb 21st? Any info regarding the number of pilots per class as well as what equipment would be helpful. Thanks

There is a reason that i had to come up with this avatar since it fits our beloved managment
The reason I'm asking is because a bunch of 72 F/E's (including myself) are trying to figure out the process of how they are putting F/O elidgible F/E's on other equipment now that the 727 fleet is shrinking. People junior to myself have already been reassigned as well as some senior. Trying to crack the nut on this one is a mystery but I spoke with another F/E that was told no one would be displaced to Alaska unless they wanted to go. Crew planning indicated to him that they were trying to match equipment/domiciles with what they have on file for their pref bid. I know of 2 pilots that got their 1st/2nd choice and are starting class within the month, but thought I'd see if anyone else out there has any more info about this. Thanks

I got called today and given a February 26th class. Can't wait!!
All I can say is bring it to the 75 domestic. We are dying over here with a very short staff and reserve coverage.

They don't tell us jack, so I dunno....sorry.
But no retirement, B plan, international flying, Asia growth, nor 4 billion in annual profits! OK, so only 35% comes from the airline side of UPS, but that's still more than a billion. Our relationship with mgt sucks, but I'll take it. I'd rather be treated like a worker and compensated well with great benefits than be duped into accepting lower compensation because I get to sing at work.Southwest has outstanding communication with it's pilots.
