Junior A320 upgrade is a 4/2007 hire (~1600 out of 2600). Junior E190 upgrade is a 10/2010 hire (~1950).

I think this tells an important tale:

Pilots by year of hire
1999 13
2000 99
2001 120
2002 240
2003 183
2004 179
2005 319
2006 265
2007 374
2008 81
2009 26
2010 100
2011 248
2012 94
2013 266

There was a sizeable reduction in hiring for 2008-2009 and we are just hitting those in 2010. 2011-13 is a big bunch of pilots, and the upgrade times will slow when it hits that point. For someone hired today I would expect the upgrade to E190 to climb towards 4-5 years and 7-8years for A320.
