I have a college education
In your
college education, any chance you ever read a book called "The Grapes of Wrath"? I doubt it, and if you did, you certainly missed the point, and thought it a nice story about some unlucky family from Oklahoma.
In your university studies, did you ever have a class on the Labor movement? Ever hear of something called the "American Plan", a drive by employers to paint unions as alien, socialistic, foreign, and anti-american in the 1920s? Ever hear of a couple attorneys by the name of "Ford and Harrison"?
You do know why you were able to pay off your house and student loans and save up a rainy day fund right?
Answer = Because of high union negotiated wages. PERIOD.
Not because you are special, smart, different, or that pilots deserve to be paid well. You paid your stuff off because you earned a job that someone else negotiated a high wage for using something called collective bargaining. Now that you "got yours" your willing to criticize your peers for trying to make life better for themselves. Nice.
You remind me of a guy I grew up with in a small town in Ohio where, like any other small Ohio town, we loved our Buckeye football. We also hated Michigan. A lot. Well this guy I grew up with just decided somehow he was going to like and root for Michigan, even though everybody else around him hated them more than anything else. He had no reason to pick Michigan, except for this weird desire to irritate, stand out, and be different from his peers. I think it made him feel better than everyone else in some weird way. But I still don't really understand it.
Just like I don't understand you.
