So, you're now starting to look at it [UAL] from a new perspective? Status quo for yourself prior to retiring was a good thing, now it's not? Everything you said about the mx bases and "Titanic" was correct...Are you maybe seeing why pilots did not want the age to change on top of all this? If you had been lucky enough to stay, would you have worked to help out those at the bottom of the list? If the answer is "yes", you should try to go there now, out of principal, and make good on this.

Not to derail this thread even futher, but can any of you UAL guys briefly elaborate on the reserve rules? I've skimmed the contract on line, but I didn't find too much that sounded exceptional. But, like I said it was a quick skim. I am one that is considering the jump.

Undaunted: I don't think you have too much to lose, do you?? I'm NOT slamming you here. You fought B scale, you've got battlestars (if you get them out of the trash!?), get back in the game at UAL and help everybody out. Forget this lawsuit crap. You got the law changed, that's what you wanted.

Undaunted Flyer:

You have clearly had a long and distinguished (much like my johnson) career.

Why in the WORLD are you holding on by wasting your time on this forum and this industry?

Enjoy your retirement. Get outside. Find a hobby. Read. Instruct student pilots. If nothing else, go back to school!

It is depressing to see someone as accomplished as yourself unable to let go. Please, please do so--and leave this silliness to the younger generation(s).

There is nothing more you can do here. Even with Viagra.

Prater is a hero in my eyes. Just as the great Dr. Martin Luther King stood up against discrimination, Prater too has took on this ugly beast and won. As a pilot group, we should feel proud in knowing we were part of a historical change in the Age 60 rule by putting our collective voice together and saying "NO! We will not tolerate discrimination by throwing our older pilots to the street cold and hungry"

We should be proud.

Instructordude: Young man, you have distinquished youself to be in a catagory with Capt. Prater. That means you have leadership ability. I don't know if you want anything but whatever it may be, you can have it. Is you CFI up for renewal?
