Did you even read the articles you linked? Neither say that a settlement is near, or even likely. The last saying that "this one is very hard to call" and stating that significant concessions would be required to settle the case.

Agreed. It's like a divorce court ordering that you try couples therapy for a few weeks before the hearing. You do it because the judge ordered it. Maybe it works, probably it doesn't, but you can't read too much into it.

I said right in it that this is "the beginning" of the end.

That is your clue that I didn't say they are about to settle.
