TWA settlement

Actually, ALPA pays that because it basically amounts to nuisance settlement costs for a case like this. Sorry to burst your bubble.

I am willing to sacrifice any and all claims - grievances or dirty looks I have received from ALPA for a similar "nuisance settlement". Can you please help arrange it?

I find it disconcerting that PCL is indeed a national representative of ALPA. The lack of tact and professionalism from him makes me wonder just how he was elected? I can't imagine voting for someone like this at even a LEC level, much less for ALPA national. Is PCL an airline rep, or a national rep? If he is national, are they aware of the manner in which he conducts himself on these message boards? We have quite a few ex-TWA pilots at CX, and to a man they are some of the best colleagues we have. I find it reprehensible what happened to them, and your gloating about this "victory" even worse. Someone who knows PCL's identity, please PM it to me. I am going to contact ALPA national if he is indeed a national rep.

Hey, ALPA Nat'l doesn't seem to care what their people do. Remember, nothing is ever ALPA's "fault", right??

One of the ALPA group Exec VPs is an AT pilot and he was the so-called "brains" of the local outfit. He single handedly brought ALPA to the property back in '09, so everybody knew he was a made guy in Herndon. When AT pilots were trying to figure out what the seniority offer from SWA was all about (cuz our reps would never be straight with us), this EVP was all over our forum declaring his opposition to the SWA seniority deal and advising people that arbitration "never" yields less than DOH or relative seniority, all of which is hooey. I'm sure quite a few AT guys believed this crap simply because he was a made guy from Herndon...instant street cred.

During that time I received from another pilot a circulated email this EVP had written to our MEC reps. He demanded the reps reject the seniority deal that would have given us the ATL fence, the 850 capt seats, the huge SWA pay raise, the furlough protection, etc. He claimed the pilots were not capable of making the decision and insisted the MEC deny us a vote. It worked, and it cost us plenty.

Had it not been for his EVP status no one would have cared what some 717 FO thought. He's still an EVP I guess. Some organization, ALPA.

I've been saying the same thing for years after a lot of his comments on our now defunct forum. No traction..Maybe now after his latest comments someone will get things done. Let me know if you need his name.

ALPA cared less about losing 2800 TWA dues than GAINING 10,000+ dues by recruiting AA back into the fold! That is why we won in 2011.

I suppose you are right. But from the outside looking in it would appear ALPA was working and angle to bring the APA in at the expense of the TWA guys. If being bankrupt means staple.....then all APA pilots should be stapled...right. I mean that's how they saw it a few years ago.

Captain Beebe was the AAA MEC Chairman, but then he became the ALPA Vice President - Finance. He was a national officer when USAirways left ALPA.

Yet he's been on here time and time again saying there were no promises of DOH or Relative Seniority. No one believed it.

The two biggest mistakes at ALPA were the TWA gutting and not allowing the AAI pilots to vote on their own fate. Really pathetic on both counts.
