I think CHQ or Mesa would be the top places to go. If you have your ATP, you can be a capt really quick at Mesa. CHQ sounds like it's a much better company than TSA is plus you'd prob gain seniority really quickly.

I hadn't yet thought it through about FOs (or anybody for that matter) picking up open time. That definitely needs to stop pronto.

For all you Go Jet ********************ers, go ******************** yourselves. You might not be scabs but you are replacement workers. Don't try denying it now. Isn't replacement workers the euphemism the media used to describe the people who scabbed for the NW mechanics? I think it fits.

CHQ's minimums are 1500/300, and the TT is a hard minimum per their DO (straight from HR a couple weeks ago). Others here might be able to comment further on that...

If you are already in STL, take a look at Regions Air. Yeah its a J32 and the pay is crummy but upgrade time is around 12 months with ATP minimums last I checked. I used to work ground ops for them, but everybody I knew there has moved on to greener pastures (NJA, Kalitta, AirTran, etc). There is some good info on this board, but do a search before you drop a resume...

Don't forget Colgan or Commutair or Piedmont or PSA. Comair just took concessions but I think they are hiring again. If it comes down to job or no job, you can always go to AE and you'll have a steady paycheck - they aren't going anywhere soon.

Good luck!

Yeah I left out a bunch. I relized that as soon as I posted. Left out AWAC too.

I thought I was done lookin for jobs for now. damn. Thanks for the imput on regions they might not be so bad I hear they are picking up flying too. There are two corporate ideas down in florida I want to check out but who knows.

Comair is not hiring, everything is on hold at the moment pending the FA situation.

Tell me again why I want to be an airline pilot?
Too lazy for honest work, too nervous to steal!

brilliant, TSH is trying to hire for their "OTHER" airline which is a seperate airline with the SAME management, didn't allow their OWN pilots to fly the G0jet airplanes and now they have to FURLOUGH TSA pilots?

This would not have happened if they would have given us the flying in the first place.

I've looked on the company's website and tsaops and have found nothing!! Then I called the VARS # and the MEC announcement hasn't changed since may 1st. This really sucks that we get this information from fi.com and that the company and the union wouldn't come out and say anything?

You are keeping the aircraft, not the flying.

True, but do you thing mgmt would keep aircraft if they didn't plan to use them? For what...well that's the million dollar question.

They want to try to keep it quite till they can tell the people to their face and not on the internet. I was keepin it low till I saw someone else spilled the beans but i guess that woulda happend anyway.

will the furlough only last three months you think? Is there some much attrition at TSA?

There's been a fair amount of attrition. It's probably going to get worse now that TSA didn't get the Continental contract (although I for one am glad we didn't). Pretty much everyone who's been here less than a year/year and a half is looking to leave (myself included).

Still no upgrades for those who stay since the company is shrinking.

So you think the company would let us know before this happened? The vars will change and we are working on it......

Thanks for the unity you jacka**

We are in contract negotiations.....do you think this is a coincidence ? I feel as bad as anybody about furloughs....I am personally affected by it as well. For you to actually post something that suggests that we are just sitting on our as*es in public like this is friggen obsurd and offending. If you have a question why don't you call your rep....and grow the fu*k up.

From a friend in displacement class a management member came in and told them about the 20 today(tues) and said it was a short term thing until all the 41 people come over and things settle a bit(the company doesnt know who is gonna show up for class and who is leaving). They do want to bring these people back and probably on short notice. Who will come back? Who knows. Even though it sucks and I hate to see anybody furloughed, does it pay or help anybody to have somewhere around 60 reservists(the number I estimate after all the 41 people come over and everybody junior gets pushed down), thats around 50 percent reserve coverage. I still think they are gonna screw themselves and scheduling is gonna come up with 1 million ways to say you are juniored. We should start a new thread on the wording of your junior notifications and see how long it gets. I am a line holder(right now) and I picked up a trip at the end of the month today and when talking to futures she asked me if I wanted to work today(tues) or tomarow(wed) on days off. I was like hmmmmm no thanks. Yea we are so fat right now we need to furlough.

Then don't pick up trips in open time anymore..........

If this happened companywide they wouldn't be furloughing in my opinion. Pilots have been waiving their contract left and right - time to think about who is affected when you pick up those open time trips people.

In any case I think they will need those pilots back very soon since attrition is so high lately.

Oh yeah BTW THANKS G0 JET.......

One of the first things we agree on!!

First off, you didn't seem to care that this stuff got out here in the first place. Just because I pointed out a fact about the union on this board, you seem offended. Look thru this entire board and you'll find opinions everywere. The fact that the union cannot take criticism without bashing its own members is absurd. I didn't say that you were sitting around doing nothing, I merely said we haven't heard anything from the union or the company and you get all unravelled about it.

Just the fact that they are TRYING to hire at G0jet and now Furloughing at TSA is the most rediculouse thing i've heard. Anyone going to G0jet should know this and factor it into their decision!!!

ONE LIST!

Ft. Rucker?

rjacobs said:
Well, if I get furloughed ill be headin for Ft. Rucker a bit earlier than anticipated. I guess I better get that ball rollin a bit faster.

WOW!! Who did you pi$$ off! I think taking the unemployment check for 6 months would be much better than Ft. Rucker in the summertime.

Sorry about the furloughs. Does a furlough of a couple months and only 20 pilots really save them anything significant? At least some of you got training out of the deal that should make starting out somewhere else easier. Good luck. BH (ex TSA)

My point is to get involved with the union to make things better here rather than airing it all out on a public forum.

To disagree is natural but to lump the union and the company together in regards to witholding knowledge of future furloughs is misinformed. It read that way to me. We are addressing communication as I write this. You should have called your rep......you know who that is right? If not PM me with domicile and seat and I can inform you.

At these times we should stick together for the greater good (pilots will be on the street because of G0Jet now)........or we can go back and forth and do Management's work for them. We are under direct attack now....

Gut check time........your choice.

ONE LIST!

The affected pilots were notified yesterday(TUE) to contact the CP. They were not told over the phone what was going on, only that they were not in any kind of trouble and to come meet with him as soon as possible. Therefore, it would have been unprofessional for the union to announce a furlough before these affected pilots even heard it for themselves.

What's up with that? Are they trying for one list? Is that desired? Is it a dead issue?[/quote]

I believe it is a dead issue, but it should have been the goal. If it was, TSH wouldn't be furloughing TSA pilots while trying to hire G0jet pilots.

Seems logical to me.

I can't wait until G0Jet pilots come on here and tell us that it is nothing personal.....just business.

UEJ500, one list was the goal. That outcome has not been achieved yet.

O.K. let me vent for a few.

First off it sucks to get the axe but everyone will go through it and probably not once. And let's get one thing straight TSA did not furlough because of the 41 displacements. Why would they fourlough guys who don't have their 100hrs so when they do get called back they have to go through training again. This is strictly a bargainig chip to use against the union during negotations. I know for a fact they are short and losing @5 guys a week. So fellas go find a new job. All the company wants is to put fear into the pilot group. And of course its working. And of course they didn't post anyting because they know guys like us will get on the board and spread rumors and scare the crap out of the rest of the FO's. ITS ALL A GAME! Do me a favor and don't let a piece of crap company control your destiny in this industry. Just walk away.
Second, I hate BlowJet but no one cares. No one. My scumbag roomate left to work for them and after 2 months there he got hired at mainline Continental. No one cares! BlowJet just got 8 more 700's to fly United SanAntonio flying. Why? Because the real TSA told United they did not have any airplanes to do the flying
Third, talk to anyone at TSA who had been around for awhile. Nothing changes here. Ever. We are not going to get one list, we are not going to get some industry leading contract after negotations, it just ain't gonna happen. Why because this company is scum run by people with no morals or integrity!
Last, there are 2 solutions.
1) Just leave TSA. Simple!
or
2) Take it to them and don't be afraid
-write everything up, everything, even FO's, get some balls
-call the times as they are
-do not try to save fuel; no SE taxis, no 22 landings, no shortcuts in the air
-call in sick when you are sick, even for a headache
-do not pick up open time
-and be professional

Talk is cheap people, Bring it on
Good Luck guys and remeber its just a JOB its who you are!

It means the company will give our pilots back if we give them something back. AKA less wages, work rules, benefits etc.

Knowledge is key

I agreee with 311hk....The company is doing this mainly to scare the pilot group because of contract negotiations. They might even furlough more for the same reason. They will keep the pilots out on furlough for a while just to make the rest of us suffer. Juniored will be the word of the day for a while. This way the pilots that are furloughed are hurt and those of us still on line will be hurting as well. The company will hope that this will make us willing to give up more stuff to get the pilots back. The company is playing hardball and we have to play hardball right back...we just have to be careful to not do anything that would be considered a "work action" or else we could get in trouble and lose some power in negotiations. Besides that one hint would be to not answer your phone so you cant get juniored.
