So, it's come full circle... Myself and another ex-Avantair guy flew a former Avantair owner out of Kenorra, Ontario yesterday in our TMC-issued Beechjet.
The aviation world is a small one indeed...
please be careful there, ive heard a lotta bad stuff about that place. No job is worth your life.
One of our former pilots, gave two weeks notice at TMC and was fired on the spot.
nah, had another jobnice, now he can collect unemployment

Not to defend TMC.... but that is actually industry standard in 121 world, if you give notice you turn in your id and company stuff immediately.

Not at our place, we fly you to your last day, need the two weeks to get vacation pay. But we are also, or used to be pretty generous, like a guy gets a call from Atlas to fill a class slot next week (this is years ago), we wished him well and let him go.Not to defend TMC.... but that is actually industry standard in 121 world, if you give notice you turn in your id and company stuff immediately.
When will this industry get some self worth? 200 pilots over there willing to work for peanuts. 15 days on? Perhaps your of some third world descent, willing to enslave yourselves. These guys are flying EJM and Netjets trips, are they flying FLOPs and FLEX trips too? Accident waiting to happen and the NBAA agrees with me.
Openly carrying maint envy discrepancies, because if you don't fly you don't get paid? FWIWI you don't get paid if your dead either.

Tell me where a 15 day schedule fits into the above.
One deadly accident is all it takes to destroy years of our industry building a reputation for safety above all else.
If ever there was a need for a union, Travel Management blazes the trail.
union cards went out today the pilots have taken about all the shtt from the ekm idiots they are willing to take. the pilot group as a whole are an excellent group while ironically the management group wouldn't qualify for much more than a subway or ice cream store manager per their resume
So........
Will TMC pilots unionize?
What's the word? I'm assuming that "Yes they will Unionize"
Is there an organizing information webpage for the TMC union drive?
Oh, I don't just have a rumor, outerfix. I have facts and details, but I'm under a gag order until tomorrow after 9 am or so. But there's more beyond tomorrow's announcement, too. This is just the first act of three. Like I said: big changes.
What happened AeroBoy? You have logged on at least twice since I made my last post, and apparently you don't want to answer. Explain how you had "facts and details" without being a DAC Shill. Come on, give us your best lie.
993, I personally don't owe you anything. And I'm certainly not a shill for ANY company. I merely am a messenger. If you can't deal with the fact that I can't go into great details or reveal my sources, then that's just too bad. Suck it up, little camper.
Act II is coming and very soon, too, I've been told. From a pilot perspective, there will be winners and losers here, and it depends solely on which company you're with...one will lose and the other will gain, but the loss is expected to exceed the gain, unfortunately. There is a silver lining in general, since fractional and charter prices could firm up as a result, making these operators more profitable and thus able to afford higher wages or hire more employees (I personally hope that both are the end result).
Separately, there will be some good news coming from one of the fractionals before the NBAA convention. Can't say anything more than that, and for multiple reasons.
