Jetblue HSA is extremely over priced compared to what is available on the non blue shirted open market. For some reason the Blue Shirt is very powerful.

It it sort of entertaining.

Paying $80 a month is a very expensive tax deferred account. You would do much better funding a variable annuity and take the green plan.

This pretty much sums up the typical (majority at last count) JB pilot in two sentences. You can hit them in the face with facts til you are BLUE in the face, but there is no reasoning with them.

Did you vote for ALPA last time. Will you vote for ALPA this time. If not ALPA, then have you setup up an organizing committee for another union to come on property?

If the answer is NO to the above then you are the problem.

Get over it. ALPA is our best chance to regain some dignity (and money, work rules, health insurance, vacation, sick time, merger protection, job protection, scope, etc) in this industry.

Times change...you know this place is not what it once was and/or promised. Your views on big bad ALPA need to change too. You are hurting yourself and the rest of the pilots here.

I think JB rates pretty high on the dignity scale when compared to most flying jobs in the US. Pilots coming from my place seem very happy there, could things be pretty yea probably, but dignity is not one of the things way up on their lists. Remember you do go into this career looking for a place that will give you dignity, respect, recognition etc.

It's not real dignified to have to receive assistance from your peers for financial help because a medical event "covered" by the company medical plan has bankrupted you. It's not real dignified to beg every year for average pay and benefits in return for above average performance and have to listen to all the reasons why "no" is the only acceptable answer, time and time again. It's not real dignified to try in spite of it all to do the right thing by your customers and co-workers, only to be foiled by some company drone because "you just don't have the big picture here". Must I continue?

PMA=BPF at all other airlines. One more safety net available to help you and your family out in serious times of need; pilots helping fellow pilots. The rest of the things you listed are to be expected. Nobody in life gives you anything without a fight, especially your employer.:bomb:

The BPF is a wonderful program. I support it wholeheartedly. The problem is that it is sometimes used as a safety net for the worst medical plan in the industry. No major airline pilot should be faced with bankruptcy or other severe financial distress as a result of a covered medical event. The fault for this needs to be laid at the feet of the company, and nowhere else. It certainly isn't "dignified".
