Looks like a nice ride to me... You certainly would be popular on any ramp. Hopefully the pay will get better with time (the fact that you upgrade quickly does help).
Well it isn't popular with many flyers cause it doesn't look like a normal airplane... that is why most charter companies avoid it even though it has good numbers. Most NORMAL people want to fly something that looks like an airplane - at least when their life is on the line...
Besides Props are for boats!

Wake up, and get a clue..
Am I crazy, or does that sound crazy?Having been here for years, i'll sum it up this way for prospective new hires - great plane, descent management (they promote from within to the point of In-breeding - K.B. is the only bright spot IMO), avg pay, horrible medical IF you have the family plan. Single plan cost is minimal.
My biggest problem has and will always be the performance issue. Be prepared for a half dozen phone calls when you take a look at performance out of a short or hot/high runway and say "i dont like this.." The cowboy mentality is alive and well here, and they dont want to hear about such folly as accel/go or accel/stop. They'll tell you that as a part 23 plane its not a required calculation so "dont worry about it"
And the latest brain child?? 150% of take off roll as the only criteria?? I dont even wanna think about who's butt they pulled that one out of. You decide for yourself if you're comfortable with that opinion or not before you say yes to a job offer.
FiveFootNuthin,
You need to stop putting so much faith in the rumor mill. Were you one of the people spreading the rumor about our doors closing on July 1?
There is absolutely no "150% of ground roll" runway requirement. The 150% thing was an idea that someone pitched to management (actually, his idea was 170% but the rumor mill distorted it). He then started telling people about his great idea and the rumor took off like wildfire.
I had a performance discussion yesterday with one of the CP's. The requirement is accelerate stop on the runway (just like the GOM says) or accerate go over the obsatcle (just like the GOM says). Perhaps you should read your GOM sometime. In my recurrent class a few weeks ago the DO reiterated the performance requirements out of the GOM and was very specific about it.
Because of Accelerate/Stop and Go issues I've changed departure airports or had to make fuel stops and there has NEVER been any repercussions over it. I've never been counseled or disciplined over it. When I tell the pax it's a safety issue they appreciated it.
I've never felt like my ticket was on the line here and I've never felt like I compromised safety with anything I've done.
Again, the 150% of ground roll is pure BS. So is the cowboy thing that you talk of.
