According to our negotiators Mesa has somewhere around 140 Mil. in bonds coming due in the June-July time frame. The people who bought them will want their money. The 80 Mil Hawaiian judgment is not included in that money. The Aloha lawsuit is still pending.

Thats what I was told...thats what gave me the final red flag to RUN.

That and the fact i was pressured into not calling in fatigued.... <--- that my friends was the final straw

I did the transition. The interview was a non-event. Just read the gouges. The only tech question I got was what is Vmo on the CRJ. Just be positive and be yourself. Its your job to lose.

Company gets sold and pilots stay at work. Company gets sold and everyone gets laid off. Company goes into liquidation and everyone is unemployed. Some here claim to know but the truth is that no one here knows. Is this the final straw for J.O. and Mesa? I highly doubt it.

Moving on. Personally if I haven’t crossed the PIC turbine time threshold that I need to I will be heading overseas to one of the contractors. I am currently researching which one. The Mesa gig will be my absolute last resort. I will not rush to a company that treats me like Mesa does again.

Fact: The FAA stated that they expect to issue around 800-900 new Multi-Commercial tickets this year.

Fact: Mesa needs around 700 pilots right now.

Fact: Mesa has lost some of the UAL Exp flying in IAD to Express Jet. The highest paid regional pilots.
Personally I am ecstatic that the flying is headed for a company that is treating its pilots well.

The numbers add up to a very bleak picture for the airlines with crappy contracts.

Fact: Expressjet just posted losses of 70 mil for the year. So maybe all this MESA going out of business is true...we will see...I have been here a long time and have seen this company pull out twice...I'm not giving up yet..I think we can get a good contract, shrink, and be a good regional.

Mesa service is the worst I have seen...good group of pilots, and the problem appears to be higher up...they (pilots) will get picked up quickly if this happens. Sucks how upper mgmnt can ruin something.

I doubt SKYW will get much more UAL flying. We already do almost half their flying. That is, unless 200's are going to be traded/sold for more 700's (mesa's possibly).

JA, CC, and the guys have had their sights on US Airways for a while. I heard they like to go to that basketball stadium where that old, big guy now plays in the desert. Can't remember the name of the building...

Maybe they go to PHX Suns games because the Suns owner is on the SKW BOD. Just a thought though...

If you have to start again at a regional (I hope you don't), I would take Compass over Republic right now. Compass is risky because of the potential flowback from NWA in a merger but the reward is bigger than Republic. Quicker upgrade, get typed in training, and the flow through to NWA if you choose. Not the best choice for everyone by any means but something to think about before making a rash decision.

I dissagree, I think your premise is flawed to a large degree. Upgrade is probably as short if not shorter then any other place. Upgrade now is a year at RAH. Plus i wouldn't put my $$ on a wholly owned, too much bad history from all others (ie eagle, comair, XJT, mesaba, peidmont) they got screwed by who ownes them, nothing but empty promises. You even said compass is risky, with that I agree! LOL
secondly, at RAH, the flying is solid with any mergers, meaning under the contract we have with all the flying partners, we would not get affectd by any losses of flying by any merger, if anything, they might give us more on the 70-85 seaters. Plus were getting more 175's this year, around 28. Growth is rampant at RAH, we had massive profits and we had massive increase in traffic block hours, more then double then any other regional the past year.
I came from another 121, and I am very happy here. Its not #1, (but who truly is?) but its a regional and has a respectable contract, and been treated very well.
