I will be calling Front Office this evening, as I have now Retired from this ever flowing cup of diminishing returns that has become that of our once proud and beloved Industry.

Retirement ain't easy Folks. It takes guts and an ability to withstand many hours of boredom....punctuated by, sheer nothingness.

I must admit that I have "The Problem" when today I find myself day-dreaming about flows and switch flipping.

Anyone know the status of Front Office?

Ok, I am sick of all this airline B.S. You too? Been doing this crap for 27 years.



The FAA, bitchy old 250’ flight attendants with rear ends the size of pack mules, rags and f#g’s, bad schedules, being JA'ed, non-reving, bad management, dead heading in the middle seat, mergers, seniority, all-nighters, no food, bad coffee, bidding, sh#tty hotels, vacation, kids, wives, girlfriends, boyfriends or both, waiting for gates, weather, low approaches, PC's, PT's, weak check airman, medicals, driving to work, commuting to and from work, spring break, Christmas, Chanukah, Easter, car payments, house payments, insurance, alimony, child support, gas, electric bills, lawn service, maids (because your fat a## wife wont get her a## off the couch), cant drink, drug and alcohol testing, dry cleaning, security, TSA, Terrorism, bad porn, good porn you can't have, no porn magazines in the airplanes anymore, sexual harassment charges, high gas/oil prices, IRS, rush hour traffic, that d#mn alarm clock, crash pads, co-pilot's that tell you are a bit high and fast and she/he puts the frick-en speed breaks out 80 miles from the airport at 5000' when you are trying to get your commute flight home, flight attendants and co-pilots telling you they are senior after being there 3 years, cell phone's, bidding every d#mn month, they guy or gal on the headset that you cant understand and I am sure there is more.



Well I am sick of it!!! I just went out and bought a 40' ocean-going sailboat. I am out of here!!! No more of all this B.S.



Might even step up to the 56' by the years end if any of you want to come up with some additional bucks.



I am out of here in January. Quitting!!! Yep that’s right I am out of here. Want to go? Start planning, I want to see the world, want to go? Where we going, who knows, who cares!!! I do know there will be a stop in the Virgin Islands, Costa Rica, and New Zealand and where ever else the trade winds take us. We will decide when we want to! Not Crew Scheduling!!!

Nothing wrong with CY's. The 3-digit boats (320/380/400/470 etc) were/are built in FL at the old Morgan plant (CY bought Morgan in the early 90's) and are more stout than the traditional CYs built in CA. Just look at the standing rigging and method its attached to the hull on a xxx-series boat compared to an xx boat. Big difference (the 42 is an exception). Yeah, I'd love an Oyster, Najad, or a Swan, but until I win the Lotto a CY is actually do-able.

I have a childhood friend who is a high school teacher now. She screamed and yelled that it was BS for the Spirit pilots to strike, stranding PAYING passengers.
I just want to call her and tell her it's BS that teachers are striking and kids are missing out on an education.

I have two cousins and a brother in law who are teachers and they fully supported our right to strike against Midwest airlines ops back in 2000.

So what's the point your trying to make?

Was it un-patriotic or greedy for the Spirit pilots to negotiate a fair wage?

EXACTLY!! We work for companies that HAVE TO make money or we lose our jobs. That's the risk we take. If the economy takes a dump and people still spend 100 dollars for a ticket to a basketball game, but not to shcool fund drives then we all are to blame, but teachers should not automatically get to keep their current pay. Do airlines furlough? Of course. Should teachers take a pay or benefit cut? ABSOLUTELY!!!!!!!!!
