Has anyone here ever actually gotten a book published? How do you go about getting it done? How much up front money does it cost? Timelines? Seems like having a published book out there would be a nice source of residual income.

You can actually get your books published yourself online. You can get one copy or a thousand copies. Do a Google search "Publish your own book".

Oh, by the way do you see my new Hammock on the bow of the boat?

A blender is next.

Publishing is academic. Marketing is the challenge.

And for the title how about "Below The Undercast."
Too vague...that would probably sell two copies. One to Avbug and one that winds up on some FBO coffee table.

Try...

Jimmy crack corn and I don't care...

{weeping tears of envy} Good luck and sweet sailing.

One other must-do piece of equipment... get SCUBA certified if you aren't already, and toss into the boat enough gear and a compressor for tank refills. Enjoy the reefs, especially in the Pacific.

Equipment list:

BBQ
Fishing gear
Guns
scuba
Intoxicants of your choice

and most important of all...
Buds to share it with!

Don't vanish from FlightInfo, we need to live our lives vicariously through you.

Good Read

FrontOffice:
If you have not read it, In Search of Captain Zero by Alan Weisbecker is a good read. The book is his account of going "off the grid", not unlike you're doing. It would give you some insights into what he encountered and how he did it. You may even run into him where your going. PM me your address and I will give you my copy...just send me a copy of your book when your done.

Flop
