Carl, the southwest pilots and Swapa control the merger- period. Either DOH or a ratio based on earnings, these are thre fairest ways to integrate. You were thrown a lifeline to pull yourself out of the regional quagmire of an airline you were eternally tied to. Good luck!

Dude. I am/was willing and have been a gentleman/diplomat bout your situation. BUT YOU ARE A BLIND, NARCISSIST, so here you go and I apologize for the honesty:

You work for a Sh!thole airline (EAST-SIDE only). Maybe you should take your own advice and live with what you got. And yes I am going to live with what I got.

I would rather work for MESA/REPUBLIC then for the USAIReast. AmericaWest saved you from guaranteed extinction.

SO ST. NIC, grab your lifeline and count your blessings!

Agreed, both sides need to try and work together. Arbitration is a last resort, the purpose of this thread is for those who are willing to respect the process and move forward when it's all done. We must not let this become another Airways.

Hopefully you can keep it from becoming another Airways, believe me, it's not fun. But we saw all kinds of this same kind of talk as we began the process. It didn't take but an instant for all that to get flushed down the toilet.

Ty, I think you'll get over it when you see your first paycheck.

Is it possible for all the pilots from Airtran to come over to SWA as first year employees but still get a fair SLI? Would that mean that any Captains that keep their seat would get first year Captain pay and all FO's would get first year first officer pay?

Could that be used in the process?

Good post animal tail. And cometman why are you always stirring the pot? Give it a rest!

Wjy is that question stiring the pot? Is it a question you do not want to think about? I guess the answer to my question is YES.

I was expecting an answer like this from Ty Webb but he suprised me and gave an honest answer. Good for him.

The childish personal attacks around here are immature and are unwarranted. Some of you need to grow some professionalism (Animaltail)! The mods should be comiing in 3, 2, 1...

REGIONAL???

AirTran is a MAJOR airline and has been for years. Get educated...and while yu're at it...get a life.

SWAPA controls this SLI no more than AirTran controls it. It will be jointly and mutually agreed upon by the two Merger Committees, or it will go to binding arbitration. It really is as simple as that.

Coming from you?
