Being an Innocent Bystander and sitting on the sidelines; I can objectively tell you Delta Boys one thing. Arbitration would not be good for you, when compared to what is being offered by your MEC now. Here is why if you think your Mr. Moak former Jar head (tic) goes up against a bunch of liberal Minnesota boys who grew up on unions, who's votes reflect pro-union thoughts and know how the system works you will have your butt handed to you on a plater. IMHO

Max:

Don't worry, "expedited arbitration," requires pilot cooperation, which is not going to happen, period.

The only thing expedited would be the coffee for those walking the picket line, while the stock and investor confidence falls like a Steinway off a 40th floor window. I've got good, comfy, shoes and a little experience walking in circles.

Anyway, the deal is off. We wish the pilots at NWA all the best as fellow professionals and members of ALPA.

I got a chuckle by the Minnesota boys who grew up on unions comment. How many of the NWA pilots actually grew up in Minnesota and grew up on unions?

With all those impressive union credentials you'd almost expect them to have a better contract.

Hint: Take a look at the stock now. I think the Steinway has already left the building.

Almost all of the union leaders are from the midwest or norther midwest. If your from the area you know the benefits of a well run union.

Now to your other thought. I don't know about you but if I had the choice between a pension worth over a million - depending on your life's longevity. Or making 4 bucks more an hour. I think I would pick the pension.....Didn't Delta lose their pensions?

Remember I'm just an outsider looking in.

Retirement can be risky

That would be a wise choice, provided that those pension checks keep coming.

Didn't Delta lose their pensions?

A big chunk (up to 50% in some cases) of the already-earned pension was lost, by pilots who had already retired. Senior NWA guys will think carefully before pulling the plug.

The story NOT being told is that MOST NWA LEC's were told by their membership NOT to let this deal go away. And they did. For now at least.

Errr, it has? Last I heard from my rep was the OVERWHLEMING response from the membership was "don't sell out seniority". The truth of the matter is that most NWA pilots could care less if this deal goes away, unlike most of the DAL pilots, who seem to be acting like spurned lovers.

The ratio thing is a big deal. Putting 2000 DL dudes at the bottom of a combined list when the NW guys are getting a 30+% pay bump, more wide bodies etc...is not equitable, period.

LOL. This has long since proven to be false and a "media leak" from the DAL guys. Please try again.

QUIT CALLING US NU. We don't want to "hang out" with you guys, but you keep calling? Why is that?

We are a bigger airline NU, we are not like sized. You can't just shuffle us all in like cards. We have more cards btw. (and more widebodies, and more bases, and no pension---sorry, you can't have it all. That was then, THIS IS NOW. SAY IT!!)

Nu

Bye Bye--General Lee
