I agree with penguin22. The most important thing is to have a good, strong E-board. We have had good leadership thru the years with the likes of Rick Z., Rob B. and now Dan G. The best thing that happened to us was when we got our own local (1224) back in the early-mid 90s. Prior to that we were in a local out of Dayton that had alot of other crafts in the local, not just pilots.

That's why if you are going to be in a union as a pilot get into a pilots union. I was in teamsters at ATA then ALPA. Say what you want but there is no comparison between the two. They both gladly take your dues but when it comes to negotiating with the company ALPA had their act together way beyond what Teamsters ever did. I was at Amerijet and they brought in the Teamsters and I don't think there has been much forward progress. Plus I remember getting the teamster magazine back when we had them at ATA. I'd see all the articles about produce truckers and shopping cart welders and think what does this have to do with flying an airplane. Sorry to hear about them doing that. Sounds like a 36th St fiasco.

Ha! Yeah, why don't you go ask some earlier Eagle pilots what THEY think about ALPA's negotiating skills?? I have a sneaking suspicion you'll get a different reaction. :D

Rhoid, go play somewhere else and stop impersonating a GB pilot. Everybody on the cargo forum is familiar with your pathetic ramble. You throw a couple names around and act like to are the real deal airline pilot. Well you aren't and it shows!

What's up

You here something that you don't like and fire accusations of coming from some rhoid dude. Unbelievable. Now what did abxpert say again that was so rhoidal?

Well it's my opinion and I have been in both unions and I still feel teamsters is the one I would pick last. A union is only as good as it's members. I just am saying ALPA gave us better resources to work with. Do you really think Teamsters would have faired any better?

It is not that ABXpert said anything that I disagreed with on THIS post...it is that he misrepresents who he really is.

It is obvious he's just a baiter. Clever using one screen name to support the other. Post some facts, support them and maybe someone will beleive your who you say you are. Say what you want about this guy, the FI people can't seem to stop him.

How's your new Jepp sized DC-9 operating manual, volumes 1 and 2 working out? Wish we could get Crawford to get us those on the DC-8.
