Just as if Southwest elected to award 1000 shares of stock to all SWAPA members for a job well done. I don't think that would go over very well either.

In your example SWAPA is getting something above AT. AT guys getting your pay is even no more no less.

Your thinking is that SWAPA should get paid more then AT always. Why?

Red, the problem is that the agreement we had has changed almost weekly. Nothing remains of our original agreement. I am sorry you can't see that. For you it means nothing. For us the cheese keeps getting moved.

Really> Get over it and stop looking for another hand out. You got what you voted for and that is it. Move on.

I understand where you are coming from but I never thought the 717s would ever be painted in SW colors. I still don't believe there will be any in SW paint after Jan 2015. This was the worst kept secret in the industry. SW has always wanted to fly one plane....the 737.

Gary's got his agreement out of both sides and is running his business to be stronger and more profitable in the future. If you think he put a target on your backs with the 717 deal and squeezed the trigger, I think your wrong. I see this move as strengthing OUR company. The same company that we both work for. I can also understand how the announcement is playing out on the AAI side. SW hasn't been too proactive in telling people affected what's getting ready to go down. This move is no different. The communication should have been much, much better.

my comments on the "employee survey":

I can not even begin to express my level of contempt and animosity over the way the pilots of AirTran have been treated during the integration process. We were threatened and treated with total disregard. SW clearly had no intention of honoring the agreements they signed and instead elected to resort to threats and ultimatums. Most won't admit that they feel this way, but they do. Our seniority and captain seats were stolen from us and given to SWAPA, our domiciles are being closed. In my opinion, and in the opinion of most AirTran pilots, this does not reflect well on a company that supposedly honors "the golden rule".

I call it the "The Golden Shower". SWAPA has pretty much stolen everything from us.

No need to change anything in the SLI agreement. Simply amend the FL contract to mirror SW rates now. Then create one of your side letters that increases OSW guys longevity for pay by a bit. Your longevity for pay doesn't affect my life and my pay rate at AT doesn't affect yours.

That's actually a great idea. Just one problem though. We don't get to give ourselves that longevity bump; that comes from Gary. So in your theory, to appease the ATN pilots would require increased pay and vacation accrual for nearly half (3000+) of our group.

Again, sounds great to me but I doubt Gary will jump on that one.

Remember they threatened us also. We need to get on the same side.

The difference is that when you were threatened, you gained 850 of our CA seats and an overall bump in seniority. Boo Hoo.

Redflyer,

The SW management rep that attended the roadshow leading up to the vote told us the 717 will be operated at least until 2017 when the leases start expiring. Many of us based our decision on these comments. We were coerced and lied to, repeatedly. Culture my ass.

I feel for you. Now move on and stop whining. Every day it is something new for you guys to complain about. It will never stop and that is why you guys will never be happy. Maybe the best thing for you is to look for another job.

You expect me to "move on" when I haven't even begun to feel the effect of my reduced seniority. Yeah, typical.

Yes. There is nothing you can do about it now. It is over. What part of over don't you understand. Accept it because that is the way life is. There are some things you cannot change and this is one of them. Both sides voted and that is it. Do you really think by continuing to whine something will change. In 2015 everything will be the same as it is now. Your seniority will not get any better by whining. Lets face it, people really don't care about you, all they care is about themselves. Yes, they tell you they care but really they only care about themselves. That is Life.

This pretty much sums up AT's perception of the Golden Rule espoused by WN and SWAPA. Thanks for the insiders view on this Cometman.

SWA is run by GK and MVD (two accountants). I have been told at $80.00/bbl the 717 made sense on certain SWA/AAI smaller markets...at $100/bbl it didn't make money...

Yeah, we voted, with a gun to our head. Its easy to say "get over it" when you're gaining upgrades and overall seniority at the expense of others.

SW and SWAPA should expect the same degree of loyality and respect from 25% of their pilots/members.

OK. You feel better now that you got to get that off your chest. When will it be enough? Are you going to be like this for the rest of your career, because it will never change. Like the next poster said, "Delta is hiring".
You really need to get over this or your life will be miserable. Every person you fly with will not want to hear about it. Well, maybe another person like yourself and then you can both spend the 3-4 days flying together talking about this and how you both got screwed.

Delta is hiring.
Oh no, I think I'll stick around and vote yes on every POS TA I"m offered. Then I can explain to the "hired not acquired" crowd just how lucky I feel to say I work for SWA (my lottery ticket)

Karma....... It ain't just a german car!

You're gonna fit right in around here!

We were told the 717's would be around for a while. The 717's going away definitely strengthens SWAPA's position. I understand you are happy about that. I probably would be to if the shoe was on the other foot. I don't think...nor do I expect anything to change for the better on the AAI side. It will get worse until the last 717 is gone. The lines have gone to ******************** and we are told they will be worse after summer. I will let you in on a secret....losing 10 to 20 hrs a month hurts. You guys refuse to see that we were lied to and coerced into an agreement. That's cool. We live in different bubbles. The way you view life depends upon your frame of reference. They are just very different from your side to ours. I will walk a mile in your shoes if you will reciprocate.

Peace out

Just because Steve made some strange comments about it doesn't mean I agree. It doesn't make me happy as you stated. To be honest, I haven't heard many people really mentioning it beyond that one SWAPA statement. I think its bizarre that your flying has been cut that much. We all should be flying max hours this summer and making as much profit as possible. I have no clue why the GO has done that on your side. If you get a chance to ask them, please do. Is be interested to hear the answer as well. Like I said before, I'd like to have you guys (with all planes painted in Canyon Blue) tomorrow so we can start working together.
