Just got an e-mail from PD today. I interviewed in March and got the type on August 5th thus entering the pool then....

They tell me I am about 9 classes away and to expect a class date 2nd quarter of next year.

I will have to get bigger floaties!

Sometimes things do not add up. I just read that there are 387 pilots in the pool. If you are 9 classes out then there are 180+ people in the unofficial pool that have an offer but have not got the type rating.

Don't get me wrong I hope that is correct and your class date happens earlier rather than later.

Talked to PD yesterday. Matt told me that I am about 5 classes out. Interviewed June 12th with type. PD confirmed one class in Oct. No classes in NOV and possible two in DEC.

Im may 17th pool date, and I was told to expect to be in the second class in December (if they have one) - otherwise first of next year.

Hey folks,

As a 2002-2003 Pool Rat Survivor I can still recall the emotional roller coaster of "...when will ever get to class" & "Did I dream that phone call to continue the process?"

All I can tell you is...
#1. Yes its worth the wait
#2. Don't pork it up by doing something stupid. I personally know of two cases where newhires had a beacon shining on their head before day #1.

Another guy put it to me like this...strive to be the person SWA hired in the interview. After four years, I am still workin' on that one

It'll all come sooner than you think!

A quick quote from the Management.

“If you promise a client you will do something tomorrow and you don’t do it for three days, you have a very unhappy client. If you tell somebody you will get it done in a week and delivery in three days you are a hero” Colleen Barrett

As you can see the if the PD tell you 9 classes and second quarter you would be very happy if it happens in 7 or 8 class or in the first quarter.
