Paying or not paying for a type rating has nothing to do with principles. It's all in what a person wants in terms of advancing his/her career.

I didn't pay for my type rating....but I ended up getting one anyway....

Maybe you'll like the principles of the staple job when we buy da Tranny and/or give you an interview shot. We might need your 100, 737-700s. I could be wrong? Da stock is cheap enough.
