Typically, the quarterly earnings press conferences have been the place to hear the new announcements. You can hear them by logging onto www.southwest.com and registering before the event. This is where all the fleet news, expansion plans etc are made official. They are usually the 3rd Monday of the month following the quarter, so look for the next one around Oct 20th, normally 10:00 - 10:30 am Eastern.
Re: new city: my guesses: CLT, DFW or MEM.

Phil O'Sopher,

Hey-Mars is the closest it's been to Earth in 60,000 years what a market to tap, what a scoop!:)

You heard it here first. ATL or some satellite airport close to ATL. Look out Delta. The AirTran/Southwest double team is about to kick in.

Just a guess. But that would be very SHOCKING considering there are no gates at Hartsfield. If any company could find gates where there are none (or go to a nearby airport - i.e. Peachtree DeKalb) - SWA could do it.

I pray for US Air's sake its not ABE. That would destroy PHL. Now if I could just get on with SWA then thats another deal alltogether.

Im betting CLT..

Mike
