And English,
If hiding behind the anonimity of the internet is bad, I guess you will be changing your screename from English to your real name? Didn't think so. Nearly everyone on here posts behind a screename as not to be "found out."

Well, Bill or whoever you are...English IS my name...would you like to see my birth certificate? So, I'm not posting behind a veil of anonimity.

I take it your name is not Bill Nelson? Didn't think so.

There is no sense arguing a moot point anymore. Everyone has their own rhyme and reason for all they do. I hope everyone the best of luck in their pursuit of happyness.

Don't foget to pray for our fallen brothers on this day of Memorial. Enjoy your BBQ and Beer but try to keep those that are keeping us safe in your thoughts.

Have a great Holiday.

Bill

How CONVENIENT....

You Sir are a jackass!

No, I think what you are angry about is that some of us have called you on your behavior, and you feel threatened. You then proceeded to defend your actions by throwing blame on the rest of us, and then you accused me of hiding behind my screen name. When I pointed out your fallacy, and that my screenname is my real name, you pretended as if you had never levelled that accusation against me and the rest of us.

If you are going to sling, at least have the decency to apologize when you discover you have made a mistake. Throwing vulgar names at me because you are angry at being publicly humiliated is not the right way to live.

hook line and sinker

Don't let some pimple-faced, internet-over-exposed wannabe "lure" you all into replying. It's obvious here that "one of these kids is not like the others..."
To get back on track for this thread, most airline websites say up front whether or not a college degree is required. I would think that recency of experience and a good recommendation could trump the lack of a 4 year degree.
BTW, in my humble opinion, anyone who made it through bubble-head school (USN Nuke power) has WAY more than enough grey matter to make it through college. Albeit you might still be glowing green and not be able to have kids...

Ya, I looked at that site too. Looks like one (1) person has been hired since 2002 that didn't have a degree. That just illustrates the point I was trying to make. People who think a degree doesn't matter are either way misinformed or in severe denial. I am not saying it doesn't happen but it doesn't happen often.

Ole English!,

What, did the facts stump you? You have been here off and on all day. No reply?

I tried to bow out of the fight and you wouldn't let me. Now that the facts as "you" quoted them are on the table you have no response. Well, to tell you the truth, I didn't expect much anyway.

You fellas have a good day.

Pardon me while I pull on your pony tail...

It's the bottom of the ninth, let's look at the scoreboard...

Ok, Bill,

1) You can't count. (English 1, Willie 0)
2) You can't tell the truth about the aircraft you fly. (FalconJet 1, Willie 0)
3) Tried to call English on the fake name issue, and lost. (English 2, Willie 0)
4) Failure to accept a graceful exit when it was right in front of you (no score awarded, too tough to add up)

Having a "bad" day?

You were called out, busted and you could have just said... "OK, I was wrong". But you missed that lesson in OCS, didn't you?

BTW, you can flame me all you want, I have no dog in this fight... but at least I didn't lie about my profile!

Maybe you and your english wife shouldn't smoke so much crack.

1)I count just fine, you and your wife obviously can't. Looks like one (1) person has been hired since 2002 that didn't have a degree. That just illustrates the point I was trying to make. Look at the date before you start spouting off at the mouth. I said since 2002. (Willie 1, eagle-ista and wife 0)
2)I figured anyone with a 3rd grade education would realize that I was spoofing. Of course everyone knows that the bottom of the UPT class would get the B-52 and the top would get the F22. Not many folks can graduate top and bottom of their class at the same time. That was a nobrainer. Call that one a tie. I should have specified so you "slower" types could understand it was a joke. (Willie 1, eagle-ista and wife 0)
3)I will concede I was wrong about the name. (I just thought you seemed more like a militant Syrian than English) (Willie 1, Eagle-ista and wife 1)
4)I pressed on when I was right! Eagle-ista and wife continue to argue a point they can't make. (Willie 2, Eagle-ista and wife 1)

BTW Eagle-ista,
What is the score card on the demestic disputes between you and English? Makes you wonder who has the sock in their pants. I'm just kidding. I don't want to make it any harder on you than it probably already is. I'm sure she is a handful to deal with on a daily basis. I'm just glad I can turn here nonsense off by turning the monitor off. Sorry fella, you can't turn her off.

Oh I can just hear the wailing from all the good folks assigned to a B-52 out of UPT. Nice going Bill you just added another group to the " I Hate Bill Nelson" fan club. :D

Well unfortunately I don't know how to edit with the new forum format so when I think out loud it gets me in trouble sometimes.

I never said there weren't good guys in the Buff, I know some who are great guys. What I said is they usually come from the bottom of the class (most people don't join the AF and "dream" of flying the Buff. BTW, being at the bottom of your class doesn't mean you are not a great guy or a great pilot)) I am sure there is an exception to the rule, there always is.

However, it should have been obvious from the get-go I was playing about my profile. I am sorry to anyone who might get butthurt over this thread.

So either get over it or don't. Either way doesn't change the fact that you need a degree to be competitive in this industry. (Thats what started this whole thread. You guys are soooo angry) Have a beer and relax!

The WEBMASTER made a wise decision to NOT allow editing of posts after about 10 minutes, so what you say STAYS. Perhaps it's time to start taking responsibility for what you say, clean up your act, so to speak.

The truth only hurts if it should.

I think thats the quote of the day.

Thats why I don't feel too bad about my posts. They may strike a nerve with some, but that is usually because they don't like to hear the truth about their situation sometime. (Read: Not having a degree makes you not as competitive) I only speak the truth as I see it.

college degree?

Did I see a post of someone getting a a job at a major without a college degree? I think I might have mentioned that one or twice on this site. Where is the avaition industry headed? If skyhogg is truely a Nuc power grad, college should be a cake walk to him, and he should not let the pusuit of the degree interfear with going after the job he wants. The degree has nothing to do with flying an airplane. TJ PIC gets you the job, and at few select places you need the degree to get the interview. I served with "Nukies" when I was doing my OOD (U) qual on CVAN-65 (old days) and they were some of the smartest, hardest wroking, get the job done guys I have ever met in my life. They are normally very successful.

The lady from Aloha sure is a tough customer. She must either have a PHD or a GED because she sure makes lots of noise over a degree. That must mean that she either has lots of schooling or none.
