No, I've answered it...its the gross arrogance of some of the posters here. Again, I don't hate SWA. I can't stand the SWA egos on parade here.

I revel in any chance I get to deflate your little balloons. Call me crazy....

Funny go back and print ur last 30-100 posts and show to anyone u want. Ask them what they think. I believe 100% would say ur disturbed . Mental

Going back to the original statement...is the question about Southwest Airlines or international ops?

Well, it WAS about SWA starting international flying, but then, per normal ops on FI, it degenerated into an anti-SWA thread, abetted by the usual suspects.

I believe so.

Air Tran uses Sabre for flight planning and while it is capable of Intl planning, it doesn't do it well. It's a very labor-intensive process to compute an Intl plan.

SWA's system is being replaced by a Jepp system since our current one can't handle Intl, ETOPS, or even multi-fleet. So, I'm sure the AT folks will be happy to dump Sabre.

Cool. Thx.

Dicko,

What percentage of AAI ops is Int'l (requires special ETOPS training)? Also have you guys heard anything regarding an aircraft transition schedule (AAI to SWA)?

Thanks
MJ

Air Tran does not have ETOPS certification. SWA should have auth by end of this year.

AAI is Class 2 nav, not ETOPS. Don't get excited.

15 raft 737 will be left on the Airtran side until april of 2014 to operate international ops

Southwest has no international override yet.

Airtran international override is not valid for flights to or from Mexico, Bahamas or Canada.
